Lalaoopsie Horse Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Just wanted to share with you a project that includes two of my daughter's favorite things. Here's the scoop... My 5 year old absolutely loves UNICORNS (she's been begging for a unicorn party for forever and a year now)....and she totally adores LALALOOPSY (a show who's characters reminds of the movie Coraline... except sweeter). And, did you know Lalaloopsy has horse, pegasus, & unicorn characters now?? Yup, they do!!

So I was thinking to myself... What would be better than combining two of her favorite things and making her a Lalaloopsy Unicorn birthday card. Yay, time for another crafting session... time for card making!! I just LOOOOOOVE to make cards!

Anywho...
I decided to make her a card with a unicorn that resembles Lalaloopsy's Hazelnut.

This is what HAZELNUT looks like:
And, here is my re-creation of her...
My Birthday Card

Card Front
I may not have made her exactly like Hazelnut but I think it's pretty darn close!

To make Hazelnut I used Design on Cloud 9's Unicorn file set. Which is also what I used to make the rainbow shooting stars & clouds.

And when you open the card...

 Inside Card
Most of the time I leave the inside of my cars blank. That way I can write a little hand-written message to the recepient. But, I've been finding myself decorating the insides of my cards more and more. Sometimes doing the insides gives the card that extra something that sometimes it lacks when only doing the front... especially if there's no wording in the front... which this would be one of those times.

For the stitched card ma,t that was used on the front & inside, I used DC9's Noel Wreath Card. Another file with parts you can use for everyday projects, not just holidays (made a reference to this in last week's post).

Aaaaanndd...
Let's not forget the FONTS!!
If you are like me, you can never have too many fonts.! If you don't already these, I suggest adding them to your collection... I used Copse (in black) and A Red Bucket (white & pink). They are great for everyday projects and journaling. Here's the great part... BOTH fonts are FREE to download. Yay!!! Because free is always a winner in my book!

There you have it! A birthday card for my little girl! I just know she's going to LOVE it.
Happy crafting & see y'all soon!!

Happy Birthday To Ewe

Hello Crafty Friends. I'm sharing another "Lamby" layout with you today. I loved how my last layout turned out so much that I decided to keep with the sheep theme. This just goes to show you that you're not stuck with just using your Easter files just for Easter. Sheep, chicks, & even bunnies can make great EVERYDAY  projects too!!

For this creation I again used Design on Cloud 9's Egg-stra Cute Ewe file set.

The file comes with 4 different sheep. I created the running, front facing, & side standing sheep by adding the legs from the other sheep to the different body parts.

Closer view of page 1.

Closer view of page 2.

I used the peeker in the cracked egg from the set to peek over my photo mat. And, sorry, the eyes are not included with this set. It is a personal file I created especially for my piecings.

For the running lamb I simply used the side sitting lamb and turned it tummy side down and added 4 legs. Positioned 2 legs as front and 2 as back.

I used flat-back buttons as accents throughout the layout to give a little more dimension. I love the little hearts on the sheep's bottoms... kind of reminds me of Care-Bears.

This little guy was made using the file's front sitting lamb and adding standing legs. I thought he would be extra cute holding a piece of candy & clutching the strings from the balloons.... which, by the way,I tied off all the balloons with hot pink twine that I had purchased at Michaels' in their $1 bins for half off... sale, yay! On top of it being a SUPER SWEET deal this twine is GREAT quality. It is not cheaply made at all!!

This gal was also made with the side sitting lamb... except I stood her legs up instead of laying them down to make her stand.

The birthday cake is not from DC9's Egg-stra Cute Ewe set but from is their Birthday Title file.

And, the party hat & balloons are they are from the Pipsqueak file set.

I also made all the presents from the pipsqueak file set. I used the same present but made them in a variety of sizes.

The font I used for the title is called Antique No 14 and is free to download here from 1001freefonts.com.

And last, but certainly not least, I used EK Success' Cupcake Chain Punch to make the cupcake border strip going across my my layout.

And there you have it... I hope "EWE" enjoyed this project as much as I did making it!

Thanks for stopping by & Happy Crafting!!

Hindi Album, Bunny Gift Set, & Lovin' Ewe

Hello Crafty Friends! It's been a while. I thought with the arrival of Spring it was adios to cold & flu season. Boy, was I wrong! I came down with a nasty bug and was down & out the whole week. Thankfully it was just me that got sick and not my entire clan. And, even though I was sick it was sure nice to catch up on some much needed rest. So, just in case anyone was wondering that's what happened to me and why I was M.I.A..

Any-who... I got  a few crafty projects I wanted to share.

The first is a
Hindi inspired accordion style photo album.

Believe it or not... This was by far one of the easiest projects I made.

What made it so easy was I purchase a pre-made accordion style photo album. This album held photos that measure 4"x 6". So, I just cut out an assortment of papers into 4"x6" rectangles and slid them into the pockets.

\
I used the elephant from the Lil' Wild Thing from Design on Cloud 9. I also used tags from the More Artisan Labels file to dress the elephants.

The frame is a retired Sizzix Bigz frame die called Frame Ornate#2.

See... Easy-Peasy! You can transform any thing from plain to adorable in a matter of minutes.

My next project is a super cute
Bunny Card & Gift Box Set.

To create this gift set I used the Bunny Cuties File from DC9 for the sitting bunny and peeker
Martha Stewart's Around the Page Eyelet Lace Border Punch for the lacy paper trim
And Accucut's Box- Gable.

I used the bunny from the basket
I thought the bunny would be extra cute holding onto the bow instead of just peeking over the border.

I just love this little bunny holding her feet!

OK... Last project... promise

I finally did a double layout... I don't think I've done one within the last few months. In fact I think the last double layout I made was in November of last year. Wow!

I call this one...
Lovin' Ewe

I used DC9's Egg-stra Cute Ewe set for the sheep. And Snowman Skaters for the trees. Sorry, the eyes do not come with the Egg-stra Cute Ewe file set. It is a svg file I personally created. I call them my "pretty eyes".

For the picture frames I used Sizzix's Wavy Frame Bigz Die
and Accucut's Frame & Background- Wavy Die

I also used Martha Stewart's Around the Page Wild Flowers Border Punch and EK Success' Scalloped Scallop Edger Punch for the border trims.

I hope you enjoyed looking at all my creations because I enjoyed making them.

And, as always HAPPY CRAFTING everyone!!
