For my project I made a sweet & simple card. 

This card made me feel a bit nostalgic. It reminded me of a memory from when my husband and I were just starting to seriously date and I would ask him how he felt about me, in hopes that I would get him to admit he was head over heels in love with me. Instead he would say,"Well, I like you". Then I would I would say, "Like... really?? Just like"? In which he would reply, "a lot". HA! That guy, I tell ya! Now he has no problem telling me he loves me. And when I ask him "Well, how much do you love me"? Can you guess what his answer is? Yup... "a lot". 

Here is how I made this card...

 I started by making a standard A2 (4.25"x 5.5"-folded) sized card base out of white cardstock. 

Then, I cut two pieces each of pink cardstock to 4"x5.25" and two pieces of 3.75"x 5"polka dot paper. These will be my layered card mats.

I cut three strips measuring 1.5" x4" (2 white, 1 pink). These pieces are for my feathers.

And, then three 3"x3" squares (1 white, 2 dark patterned paper). These will be for my geometric blossoms.

Because these die cuts are very intricate, I decided it was smarted and faster to add the adhesive to the paper before die cutting. So, I ran my smaller paper pieces into my Xyron Creative Station Lite. Then, I used my dies to cut the feather and flower shapes out.

 For my larger mat pieces I simply used my Xyron Mega Runner to layer and adhere them together. I attached one set of matted paper to the inside of my card and one to the front of the card.

 I easily peeled the protective film off the patterned paper blooms and attached them across the top of the card mat. Then attached the 3rd (white) bloom, in the center of the other two blooms.

For the feathers, I only peeled the bottom end of the protective film, then attached the exposed area to the card front. I only attached then ends because I didn't want my die cut piece just lay flat, this way it gives the illusion that they are somewhat popped up.

Then, with a small dab of liquid adhesive I attached a

I found this card sentiment in gold foil that says, "te amo mucho". I spotted it in my paper stack as I was flipping through it.

I was able to delicately cut out the words leaving a thin white border.

I ran them through my Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker, peeled the protective film then attached the word "te amo" along the bottom right hand side of the card front.

And then, attached the word "mucho" on the inside the card.

On top of this being stack being filled with pretty patterns and foil, I love that these paper are all double sided as well. 

For today's project I decided to use this beautiful pattern with a dark blue midnight blue with pink and white flowers. The flip side to this pattern is a very feminine white and pink flower/ sunburst pattern.

To make my box I used my Lori Whitlock Gable bBx die and die cut 2 pieces. Then, die cut 2 more scalloped handles from the reverse side of the paper for a bit of contrast.

To attach I simply ran the handles through my sticker maker and attached to the top.

Then folded the box panels on the premade crease lines and used my tape runner on the flaps and attached them together.

I used crinkled silk ribbon to tie a simple bow and attached my tulle flower. I glued the flower just under the bows not allowing the recipient to get in and out of the box with ease.

Another wonderful perk to many DCWV stack is that they include the awesome sheet full of cut outs, sentiments, and journaling tags.

I found this gorgeous one that says "hello, beautiful" in gold foil! The shine is just stunning!!

I used one of my Eileen Hull Kitchen Labels to die cut it out then attached foam adhesive to the back and mounted it to the front of my box.

This box is almost too pretty to open! It's a good thing I put a special gift that is equally beautiful inside to make it worth opening! LOL

And since I'm gift giving, you know I have to include a card!!

The gable box used less than a sheet a paper to make. So I used the leftover from the same sheet to make a coordinating card.

I cut my biggest piece to 4"x 5.25" (A2 card mat size). The dark blue strip was cut at 1.5"x 5.25". The Pennant flag measure 1"x 5". The sentiment strip was cut directly out of the same sheet the "hello, beautiful" was from. No measuring involved. 

I layered the pieces onto a standard A2 (4.25"x 5.5") sized hit card base, simply attaching with tape runner.

I die cut 3 of the bigger leaves from the Lynda Kanase Photo Banner set from this soft periwinkle blue and white polkadot paper (also from the Peri & Peach Stack).

 I also die cut 6 stemmed leaves out of peach and gold foiled paper. Then inked the edges of the leaves with Melon ColorBox Blends applicator.

I attached the leaves onto the card using clear liquid adhesive and topped with paper roses.

Finally, I attached a little bling to the lower right corner.

I really love how the little pop of periwinkle just leaps off the card.

I really love how this gift set came out! Very feminine and elegant!!

I started by cutting my 12"x12" sheet of black cardstock in half to measure 6"x12". Because my die to make the album is 13" long my cardstock will not be long enough to cover the whole die. So, I just cover the outlines for the Album Cover and Book Spine. Then run it through my die-cut machine.

I do the while cutting my Book Pages using illustration paper. Covered just the double page outline and run though my die-cut machine again. This is a heavy duty die so I was able to cut multiple layers at a time*. I am able to cut through 2-3 layers of  this 150 lb. paper with ease.

* Just a side note: Do not cut too many at a time. Added pressure may cut through your crease lines. It's always best to test your dies to see what is the best amount for the type of materials you are cutting.

Before I started assembling my book I covered it with pretty paper. I ran my chipboard pieces through my Xyron Creative Staion (faced down). You can tell which side is up by the roundness of the cut edge. The edge of the back side will be more jagged.

Once my pieces were ran through my adhesive, I gave the them a quick rub down to make sure the adhesive was secured and then removed the protective film.

At this point, I examined my paper to see what particular part of the patterned paper I wanted to show up on my panel. Then I attached the pieces ,adhesive side down, to the back of my patterned paper. Then trimmed around each piece using a scissor.

After trimming them, I took a little sanding block and sanded down the edges. Then I used a liquid adhesive to assemble  cover pieces to the spine. I added more patterned paper to cover the spine. Then, distressed the edges of my pieces with brown chalk ink and sponged inking tool.

Then, I hand stitched each page insert into the album using an embossing needle and hemp twine.

I did this in three separate segments. Each segment consisted of  4 double pages (8 pages); for a total of 24 pages.

Each segment was tied off. Then all the loose twine was gathered and tied together to make one knot.

 To decorate the front of my Art Journal, I used the Maya Road Geometric to create a heart out of cork. 

First, I ran a 4"x 4" sheet of cork through my Creative Station Lite. This is the easiest way to add adhesive to your die-cuts. And these dies cut like butter!! It not only cut through the cork but also the protective adhesive backer as well. 

Each cut popped out clean and crisp with pretty much no effort. It practically fell out of my die during removal. 

For  more embellishments, I cut out tiny images from coordinating paper in the same paper stack I used to decorate the covers. Then ran them through my Xyron X Sticker Maker.

I used more liquid adhesive to attach my Maya Road Vintage Paper Flower and Tulle Blooms to the front and tiny piece of cheese cloth; peeled and adhered my Geometric heart; then attached my flag embellishment and butterflies.

And here is my finished project...

Now I have a cute little art journal I can take with me on the go!!

 This journal is so very "SWEET"!! I love making pretty things!
