Be Golden...

Hey there, crafty friends!! Welcome back to another fun filled week with Craftwell and Sabor Papel!! I am so happy to kick off this new week! We are going to continue in our month long celebration with more amazing projects!!

Today, I made a card for the daughter of a family friend whose daughter will be graduating this year. She is such an amazing young woman and I wanted to remind her always SHINE!!

So, I made her this card that says "Be Golden. SHINE".

Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss(Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies- Noteworthy, Thankful Holiday (Craftwell)
Recuerdos Ole (Sabor Papel)
Ramitos (Sabor Papel)
Corazonzitos (Sabor Papel)
Stitched Rectangle Die (Pink and Main)
Nesting Circles Die (Darice)
Kraft Cardstock
Gold Foil/ Mirror Paper
Burlap
3D Lacquer
Craft Foam
3D Dots (EK Success)
PITT Artist Pen S ( Faber-Castell)

Using the bigest of my stitched rectangle dies from Pink and Main, I ran it through my cut'n'boss machine and die cut out one of the panels from the Recuerdos Ole paper from the Ole Collection .

Then I die cut these decorative my be golden die from the orange panel from the same sheet from above and also from the Ramitos paper.

Then, I cut my star with the word "shine" out of gold metallic paper. I also die cut a circle mat for my Be Golden die cut using my Darice Nesting Circle die. And, I  took a smaller circle die and die cut a piece of craft foam.

then die cut the star framed rectangle die out of Corazonzitos paper.

I ran my die cut  pieces through my Xyron sticker maker and layered my circle "be golden" piece onto it's gold mat. Then, with a glue pen, I attached the orange letters from the second cutout into the empty alphabet spaces. I then attached the foam circle on the backside of my die cut.

I used a glue pen to attach my star frame to my card.Then. attached  my circle piece onto my card as well.
I die cut my star from moor gold paper and then layered it onto a piece of Corazonzitos Paper and cut a thin border round the whole star. Once completely trimmed, I added foam adhesive to the back for a bit of dimension and attached it onto my card.

I then trace around the letters on my "Be Golden" with a PITT Artist pen to define the words better.

Lastly, I cut a strip of burlap (about 1/2" x 4") and tied a simple knot onto it and then trimmed the ends. Then I used 3D Lacquer to attach it to my card front!

I love how this card has a very Boho vibe going on with it. These colors and bright beautiful patterns just grab you and pull you in!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!
And I hope the recipient will too!!

I hope you all enjoyed today's project!!

Until next time...
HAPPY CRAFTING, FRIENDS!!

Craftwell/ Sabor Cinco de Mayo Blog Hop

Hello, Crafty Friends!!
Welcome to the Craftwell USA/ Sabor Papel Blog Hop!! I am super excited you are here!! thank you for hopping with us today!!

If you have Just come from Debi Tullier's Blog, you are in the right place!

I am so excited to share with you my project! Today I am going to show you how I made this lovely card using Sabor papers in conjunction  with my Craftwell Cut'n'boss machine...

Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss Machine (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Die, Doily- Lover's Lane (Craftwell)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Stitched Rectangle Dies (Pink and Main)
Winged Heart Die (Die-Namites)
Spectrum Noir Color Pencils
Odorless Mineral Spirits
Blending Stumps
3D Dots (EK Success)
Hemp Twine
Black Cardstock

I started by coloring this panel Sabor Papel's Recuerdos Amor paper.
A lot of Sabor's paper in the Amor Collection have an array of flower doodles on them... these make for great coloring. And coloring has become quite an awesome trend that I was just too happy to embrace. I just love to color! It relaxes me and makes me feel like a kid again!

I chose to color my flower images using color pencils and odorless mineral spirits with blending stumps.

I traced around each image then blended out the color with my solution and stumps. I kept going back and adding layers and shadows where I thought they would fall on the flower.

Look at the huge difference a bit of coloring makes!! On the left are the flowers I colored with my color pencils and mineral spirits... and on the right is an uncolored flower doodle. I love how much depth it adds! And for some reason, I found it much more easier to color a colored sheet of paper versus a plain white sheet.

I cut my panel out using my Cut'n'boss and a stitched rectangle die. If I stopped at this point it would make a really beautiful post card... don't you think?!

But I can't leave well enough alone... so,  I also cut out a mat for my panel to continue to build a card.

Then, I ran both through my Xyron Creative Station.

For my little heart embellishment I cut out 2 different sized flaming hearts from more Sabor paper. I added foam adhesive to the back of each and layered the smaller on top of the bigger one.

Then I cut out this really cool winged heart out of plain black cardstock and layered my hearts on top of them.

For the green frilly trim I used the sentimientos amor paper and my Teresa Collins die to cut out a doily.
Then I cut the doily into four pieces (above), and added adhesive using my Xyron Mega Runner.

I tucked the corner under my matted panel and attached it to a 6"x6" card base made using the Ramitos paper.

Then I wound some hemp twine and attached to my card front using my winged heart.

And here's my finished card!!

I just love how this turned out!!

And my favorite part was coloring this gorgeous flower doodle!!

But the very close second place was making the very cool heart embellishment!

I hope you loved my project and that it inspire you to color your doodles too!!

HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Sabor Papel - Mi Amor

Hello, Crafty Friends!! Today I have something bright, colorful, and exciting!! Craftwell has teamed up with the awesome people at Sabor Papel for the month of May and together we will be bring you some amazing projects because we will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo all month long!

Supplies Used
Teresa Collins Cut'n'boss Machine (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies- Lover's Lane, Thankful Holiday (Craftwell)
Sentimentos Amor- Amor (Sabor Papel)
Corazonzitos- Amor (Sabor Papel)
La Guitarra- Ole (Sabor Papel)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Hypnotic-Black Magic (Core'dinations)
Black Cardstock
Versafine Onyx Black Ink (Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko)
VersaMagic Jumbo Java Ink (Imagine Crafts / Tsukineko)
Sponge Daubers
Beige Organza Ribbon
Skull Brad
PITT Artist Pen XS (Faber-Castell)
Cutterbee Scissors
Paper Trimmer
Corner Punch
Liquid Lacquer

For my project I made this gorgeous "Amor" card with Sabor's vibrant papers... I absolutely love the Amor collection! It's filled with romantic patterns and cool and ghoulish skeletons. The sheet below is called Sentimentos Amor.

I simply cut sections of this sheet with my scissors. I used the skeleton couple as my focal point and  the assorted flowers as embellishments. I inked the edges of all my cut-outs using a PITT Artist Pen to hide all the white edges and give them a more finished look.

To accentuate my cut-outs I used the doily from the Teresa Collins Lover's Lane pocket die set, and the leaves and  berry stem from the Thankful Holiday Set using the backsides of the Sentimentos Amor and Corazonzitos papers. Then I inked the edges with black and brown ink using a sponge dauber.

Then I ran my cut-outs through my Xyron Creative Station Lite machine to turn all my cut-out into stickers.

I also cut the border strips form the Sentimentos Amor sheet and ran them through my Xyron X.

For my background I used a corner punch to give the corners a ticketed edge. I used my Xyron Mega Runner to attach my Laguitarra sheet to a black mat. The guitar are one side (backside) but the other side are really lovely images of music sheets. This will be the side of the paper I incorporate into my card.

Now all I need to do is assemble my card ... I simply peel and stick my cut-outs. I tucked a few flowers behind my doily to add a little more color.

Then I attached my die cut leaves and stems with Liquid Lacquer. I also tied my bow and attached a skull brad (again with Liquid Lacquer) and then attached the bow onto the card front with, you guessed it, more Liquid Lacquer.

And here is my finished card...

I hope you all love today's project!! I really loved putting this one together and absolutely love how it turned out!!

Stay tuned for more exciting projects from Craftwell & Sabor Papel!!

Until next time...

HAPPY CRAFTING!!
