Hero Arts United As One Release

Hey, Friends!! 

Hero Arts, along with two of my amazing friends- Pocono Pam & Dana Joy, have collaborated to release the New Hero Arts United As One Set! 

In my opinion, this stamp set was very much needed... now more than ever. Sadly, our society is greatly divided. Horrible events have turned the world upside-down and for far too long the world has turned a blind eye to racial and social injustices. But not anymore... It's time for a change! It's time to take a stand! It's time that we do better!! We need to unify our voices and hearts. We need to stop the division and come together!

The focus of this stamp is to encourage love and support. To some together in solidarity. To amplify and unify the voices of the unheard. To let people know you care and you stand with them and they are not alone.

Instead of harsh words, let's spread kindness and understanding!

You can intermix these stamps to form so many encouraging and uplifting sentiments!

Profits from this stamp set will go to charities that support racial injustice.

Finally, here is what I created with this set...

I chose to use the clasping hands from this set and repeated the image in different skin tones. We are all different shades- let's keep things real. But we should not let that divide us! I have so many friends of different shades and social backgrounds... I will not let their difference hinder our friendship. I respect and appreciate our differences and embrace each person according to what's in their hearts not what they look like. The holding of someone's hand, to me, represents compassion and support. Sometimes the simple act of holding one's hand speaks so much louder than words.

I am the type of person who wears my heart on my sleeve. But I also am the type of person who instantly speaks up when I see unfair and unjust treatment.

I am the type of person who will stand and raise their voice to call out bigotry.

I have ZERO tolerance for HATE!

Now, this stamp set may not be able to irradicate all the 'Negative-Nellys' of the world but it can spread hope and kindness! nd by doing so, hopefully, change a few hearts!

Happy Easter Card

Hey there crafty friends!! Have you seen Spring yet?! I thought I did a couple days ago! I could have swore it was just here... but alas, Spring is M.I. A. once again!! It looks like for the remainder of the week Spring will once again be in hiding... **SIGH**

OH WELL, BACK TO CRAFTING!!!

More cards it is!!!

Believe it or not, I made this card almost completely out of remnants and scraps. Yay, for less waste!! I love the fact that I'm able to use up my already chopped up and used pieces. See something familiar? Let me give you a hint...see the bling... that is from the leftover cut out of the scalloped oval frame I made for the "You're Amazing" card!! I just ebrushed them a different color, which is super easy to do because they started out clear!

This little sweetheart is from a KaDoodle Bug file called Bunny Babies... 

...just a side note: the eyes on my little bunny are not included with the set (see pic below). It is from a file I created especially for my pieces.

These bunnies are still adorable with the original eyes!!

As always, I ebrushed all my paper pieces .

Super LOVE my ebrush!! Don't know how I got along without it! It adds so much depth in so little time!!

The eggs also come in this file I simply embossed them all with my embossing folders .

eBrushed Mixed Media Layout

Hello Crafty Friends... For today's project I went waaaay out of my comfort zone and did my very first mixed media layout. I've always wanted to give mixed media a try but was too scared to, but after this I can honestly say that it wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. I learned that any mistakes I thought I made were easily forgiven with more distressing and a lot more color.

Homemade Modeling Paste

I started by adhering a piece of patterned paper to a 12"x12" piece of chipboard. This will help prevent warping and keep my work surface flat. I then tore random pieces of coordinating patterned paper and glued and sealed it with Mod Podge onto the page.

Then, I stamped my layout using my Hero Arts' Raindrops Background stamp in Momento ink.

After stamping I created texture with my modeling paste and my Tim Holtz stencils in random areas around my page. Then I ebrushed over those same areas in my Spectrum Noir markers PP2, TN8, and True Black. The absolute best thing about ebrushing color onto my page is that there is virtually no drying time on the ink. So I can move right to the next step! 

I cut 3 frames from my patterned paper with my Sizzix Jelly Frame die and saved the centers on the side. I ebrushed the frames using my Spectrum Noir Marker in TN8 in the Spectrum Noir (SN) adapter.

I used my Sizzix Decorative Accents die and cut this regal shape out of chipboard. I then painted it with gesso then sprayed it with my eBrush with my Sharpie (SP) adapter and Gold Metallic Sharpie and then with my Spectrum Noir True Black marker again in the (SN) adapter around the edges.

I also used my eBrush to spray silhouettes from my Sheena Nature stencil onto the centers of my two of my 3 frames. For this I used my Spectrum Noir marker PP2 in my Spectrum Noir (SN) adapter head. 

I adhered all my frames and their centers onto a sheet of craft paper. Then I cut them all out creating solid pieces.

I also ebrushed my cheese cloth in Spectrum Noir TN8 to give it a more worn and aged look. Again no drying time!! Yay! 

I adhered lace and cheese cloth to my page with Mod Podge and then added all my finished pieces die cuts over top with more Mod Podge. This ensures a very strong hold. 

Lastly, I added my Prima flowers topped with flat back pearls and bling to the page. 

I hoped you like this project as much as I enjoyed making it!

Hey Crafty Friends... Just wanted to share with everyone a birthday card I mad for a very Special Lady. I had to wait till she received it to post it here. 

This was the first non- DT project I've done in a long, long, looooong time. I love my design team creations but I love this project even more because it was for someone special! Michelle Currie Happy Birthday!!

 This card incorporated several techniques... masking, airbrushing, stenciling, and coloring... all with my Spectrum Noir markers over glossy cardstock.

Just wanted to show the card in different angles to see the shine.

Foxy Card - What's Up?

Hello Again Crafty Friends!! I thought that with the major holiday past us and out of the way everything would turn back to normal... I was wrong... I'm still as busy as ever!! I guess that is to be expected with four children, right? 

I was able to squeeze another card out but this time I opted for an everday card and took a break from Valentine's Day. But don't worry with my oldest in school I have to make more valentine's crafts for my princess to share with her class. As a crafty mom it's my obligation!! At least that's what I tell the hubby to validate my very expensive hobby.

My newest card is called "What's Up?".

And here it is:

All cutting files are from Designs on Cloud 9.

 I used the  Foxy file for the fox &  balloons. 

And, the My Sunshine Title file for the sun & clouds. 

I also used an old Hero Arts stamp from their  Birds and Branches Set. I thought the sentiment fit perfectly with the little foxy floating through the air, clutching a bunch of balloons. Too, too cute!! And super simple!

This makes for a great "just because" card.

I LOVE IT!

I love that it was simple but still soooo cute too!

LIONS

Goooooood Morning Sunday! Well, the day started ugly... thunderstorms, heavy rain, nervous doggy... then all the kiddies wanted to do a dog pile on me... what a great start, right?!

Anyhoo, I crafted till the wee hours of the morning. It was the only me time I could get to myself, by myself. I was able to make 2 cards, YAY!! I used Little Scraps of Heaven Designs' Lion file. Tricia was nice enough to give this file for free... on one condition... you had to promise to create something with it and post it to the LSHD's Facebook fan page. 

A promise is a promise! And here is my take on it! I love how they came out!

I experimented with eyelashes and a mouth on this one. 

And on this one I decided to give some whiskers a go. I know all lions with a mane are boys but I couldn't resist making "him" in pink! Boy wear pink, right?! Then I cut off the body and cut down his legs to give him paws and made him into a peeker. <3 it!!

Gonna see if I can craft anything else today. Great weather today for it. Hopefully the family doesn't go stir crazy and want to go somewhere in this nasty weather... here's hoping!

Well, Here's to a fresh start... and what better way to start out fresh than with an super cute,  and not to  mention sparkly, just because card! I'm am super excited to finally get to use my Sizzix eclips machine on other projects besides my son's 1st birthday party decorations. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast making everything from the invitations, to the party banner, to all the little labels for the candy buffet! But all the stress from planning and then executing a party can be super exhausting! Now, with that all taken care of and out of the way, I can craft for just the pure pleasure of it!! Yay!!
