Hey there Crafty Friends!!!

Back with a cutesy card today... It seems nowadays all my friends are having babies. Baby after baby. I shouldn't talk... I had 4! And my friends call them stepping stair babies, if you line them all up in a row from oldest to youngest they look like a set of stairs. I had them really close together and now my friends and family often joke that it's time for me to have another baby. My youngest is now 2 and all my children are about 2 years apart. But I think I have enough and we're a perfect unit the way we are... 2 girls and 2 boys... even teams!! I'm good!

I know some of my friends aren't ready to call it quits just yet... so I'm stalking up my baby card arsenal. So the next time any one of my preggy pals delivers their bundle of joy I'll be ready!!

I love these new DIY Stacks from DCWV!! Not only does each contain awesome projects that come together instantly, but each stack also contains luscious paper... the same gorgeous paper made with the same awesome quality that DCWV is known for ...  these stacks are filled, to use for the projects included or to use separately!! DCWV gives you more than enough to do BOTH!!

And today I'm using their awesome Stencil Stack! Not for it's awesome Stencils that come included ... which it comes with many, believe me... but for these fabulous papers!! The patterns and colors are absolutely perfect to go with my baby card!!

Today I also decided to give some new crafting toys a whirl... I recently purchased some new dies from My Favorite Things. These are so cool! I think I'll get more later!! But today I used MFT's Blueprints 18 set to make my card.

 I started by making a simple A2 sized card ( 8.5"x 5.5" folded in half- landscape profile) for my base out of the craft cardstock that was included in my stencil stack. This is, by far, the best craft cardstock I have ever used! It is nice and thick and sturdy. A cross between light chipboard and craft cardstock. This would be great to use a base for mixed media projects. I think it will stand up pretty well to moisture with minimal to no warping... yes, that is how good it is!!

Then I took my Blueprints 18 diagonal base/mat die (the larger one) and the stitched circle die... I place the stitched circle inside the diagonal die and held on place with a piece of blue painter's tape. I ran this through my die cut machine.

Now my die cut has a stitched window!!Awesome!! I also cut a matching diagonal piece out of a fun foam sheet to give my die cut some dimension. I didn't cut the stitched circle out of this piece but cut an additional foam circle out of more fun foam and set aside. I also used the smaller diagonal die to cut out some awesome polka dot paper that was also included in my stack.

I also used the embellishment dies that were included in the same set and cut out more fabulous paper from my stack... even though none of the papers match they compliment each other very well.

I decided to use This ADORABLE stamp set from Pink and Main for my main focal point... who doesn't love baby elephants!! Too too stinkin' cute!! I want to color these with my alcohol based markers so I need to stamp my image with an ink that won't smudge or smear... my Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad.

I colored my image using my Spectrum Noir markers in IG1, IG3, IG4 for the elephant's ear... BGR1, BGR2, BGR3 for the elephant's body... PP2 for the teeny tiny hearts... and LG2 and DG2 for my little bird.

After I was done coloring I cut my image out with the same stitched circle I used to cut my window. This circle gives stitch marks on both the outside and inside of the circle cut line... which is an awesome added bonus!

I quickly ran all my main pieces through my Xyron Creative Station... including the circle foam die cut (not pictured).

I always make sure to give the protective film a "once over" ensuring all the excess adhesive sticks to the plastic film and not all over the top side of my project. This is some heavy duty stuff and once it's stuck...  it... is... stuck!! So I'm getting off as much excess as I can! 

Now to peel and stick on to my card base!!

I then stamped my sentiment on the little embellishment flag and pennant I cut had previously cut.

I tied a bit of twine through my paper button I had cut earlier. Then Finally glued all my little embellishments in place with some glossy accents.

Bugs N Kisses

Happy Taco Tuesday!! Sorry, I've been watching the "Lego Movie" one too many times! Beside we're not having tacos today anyway!! LOL

Well, anywho... I've got an adorable cutie patootie card today... made with the uber cute "Bug N Kisses" set by Pink and Main!!

Love these little cuties dressed up like bugs! They are so sweet wearing their little socks and mary-janes! They always remind me of my little girls or even further back when my mom used to dress me up in mary-janes!! Too sweet!

The paper I used is from Craft Smith. The great thing about this company is that not only do all the papers in this stack match each other but other collection easily coordinate with it too! I have mixed this collection with their Tea Party and Natural Luxury Collections as well... and always ended with GORGEOUS results!! 

  

The die I used for the ornate square is manufactured by Darice. I was really pleasantly surprised at the quality of their dies. I had purchased this die set online and before then had no idea Darice made dies. The were extremely inexpensive. A set of 6 nested dies cost under $9. How awesome is that?!!

Of course I had to put a little bling on my card somewhere... so I scattered a few pink sequins here and there... these are just your everyday sequins I picked up in my bead/ jewelry making isle at the crafts store not the scrapbook section (if you label something "scrapbook supplies" companies tend to jack the prices up for some reason). There are lots of varieties, different sizes and colors... don't be afraid to venture out of the scrapbooking isles... you'll never know what kind of treasures you'll find!!

And for my super loopy bow... I tied 2- multi looped bows and tied together to make it seem huger than it really is!! 

Overall, I loved how this card turned out and all the yellows and oranges make me "HAPPY"! Have you ever noticed how bright citrus-y colors tend to do that! I have!!

Hey there crafty friends!! Have you seen Spring yet?! I thought I did a couple days ago! I could have swore it was just here... but alas, Spring is M.I. A. once again!! It looks like for the remainder of the week Spring will once again be in hiding... **SIGH**

OH WELL, BACK TO CRAFTING!!!

More cards it is!!!

Believe it or not, I made this card almost completely out of remnants and scraps. Yay, for less waste!! I love the fact that I'm able to use up my already chopped up and used pieces. See something familiar? Let me give you a hint...see the bling... that is from the leftover cut out of the scalloped oval frame I made for the "You're Amazing" card!! I just ebrushed them a different color, which is super easy to do because they started out clear!

This little sweetheart is from a KaDoodle Bug file called Bunny Babies... 

...just a side note: the eyes on my little bunny are not included with the set (see pic below). It is from a file I created especially for my pieces.

These bunnies are still adorable with the original eyes!!

As always, I ebrushed all my paper pieces .

Super LOVE my ebrush!! Don't know how I got along without it! It adds so much depth in so little time!!

The eggs also come in this file I simply embossed them all with my embossing folders .

Hey there crafty friends...

Back again with another stinkin' cute card!! I used one of this week's freebies over at KaDoodle Bug Designs to make this uber adorable egg shaped cutie ... This is KBD's the Eggie Buddy Rooster.

 I paired him with this awesome set by Pink and Main Called Sunny Days. I used the sunburst, clouds, and sentiment/ words from this set. The ornate frame is also from Pink and Main... it's is from their Super Mom set.

And, you know I have to eBrush my paper pieces!!!

 A-MAZ-ING... Right??!!

Sometimes just the smallest details have a huge impact! Look at the difference just chalking some cheeks onto these little guys makes!

This card is not short of dimension!

I mounted almost everything with foam adhesive! And, if that wasn't enough... I added just a little bit of embossing to my "grass"!

This card just shouts "Spring" and bright skies!! 

I don't know about you but I can use some sunshine and do away with gloomy with gloomy skies. Bring on the grass and flowers already!!

Well, I guess I can muscle my way through a little more winter...at least it makes for great crafting weather!

This card base was made using Stephanie Barnard's Royal Stand-ups die by Sizzix... In fact, this whole card was made using 100% Sizzix stamps! Even the stamps are all from a stamp and die set Sizzix/ Hero Arts set called Floral.

The primitive hearts were from a retired Sizzix sizzlit Window and Frame Makin set.

Leaves were from the Flowers, Branches, and Leaves set.

And, here is the mot recent... 

I ebrushed the ornate heart frame (Sizzix), leaves (Sizzix), stick pins, and flowers.

Doily is from We R Memory Keepers.

Embossing folder is from the Anna Griffin Lace Trimmings set by Cuttlebug.

Scalloped edge is from an EK Success' Scalloped Scallop border punch.

Trick or Treat "See-Thru" Card

Hello Crafty Friends!! Soon Halloween will be upon us!! I love Halloween and not just because I was born the eve of this fabulous holiday but because ... hmmm, wait... no, that pretty much sums it up! LOL

It all started because my mom tried her hardest not to have a Halloween baby. I was already two weeks late and not budging. Well, she went for a walk one day and lo and behold labor pains began. Really not the best or safest way to get me out and I really don't recommend it to anyone! In fact women who are overdue really should seek advice from a their doctor. But there I was brand spanking new the day before Halloween!

I love the fact my birthday is very much associated with a holiday. Hardly anyone forgets my birthday and if they do it's usually just a day off. LOL 

But beside the extremely close birth date I love the fact that Halloween brings out the creative nd mysterious part of people. The costumes are always the rage! Bought or made, I love seeing them all. Or forget the costume all together and wear make-up... still... LOVE  IT!!

Why wouldn't anyone want to embrace and celebrate it?!

So, I too embrace this holiday through creativity. 

Here's a card I made that represents my favorite Halloween pass time... Trick-or-treating.

For this card I used Pink & Main's Smell My Feet Stamp Set. I love this stamp set. That frog just kills me hanging on the candy bucket!

For the card base I use Grafix's Craft Plastic heavy weight sheet in .20" thickness. 

I cut the sheet into a 5.5"x 11" piece and folded it to make an A2(4.25"x5.5") sized card.

Then I embossed the front flap of my card with an embossing folder. 

The embossing folder used came from the We R Memory Keepers Butterfly set.

I hid my inside panel by layering it directly under my front panel.

And, there you have it... something a little different... but it works!! And, I love it!
