Bear Hugs (Gummy Bear Edition)

Hi, Crafty Friends!
I have another uber card for you today!! I hope you like gummy bears... because today I'm gonna show you how to make these adorably delicious looking teddies!

 Supplies Used
Ink Jet Transperancy Film
Momento Ink Pad- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Ebrush (Craftwell) w/ sharpie(SP) adapter
Sharpie Markers- Orange, Red, Green
Die-namics Blueprints #14 (My Favorite Things)
Sizzix Big Shot
Patterned Paper (Happy Day- My Mind's Eye)
Craft Cardstock (Colorbok)
Glitter enamel dots (Virginia Turtle)
PITT Artist Pen (Faber-Castell)
Diamond Glaze(Judikins
Acrylic Blocks
CutterBee Scissors (EK Success)
Foam Adhesive

I started by stamping my image onto my ink jet transparency using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. There are two sides to the transparency... one side is smooth and the other a little rough. Make sure to stamp on the rough side... this is the side that holds/grips to the ink. This makes the images stamp clearer with little to no smudging.

Then, I airbrushed all my bears using my ebrush machine and sharpie markers (also done on the rough side of the transparency).

Using scissors, I cut out each of the bears. Then applied a generous amount of  Diamond Glaze over my bears (also done on the rough side of the transparency). This sealed in the color as well as added dimension.

Then I set them aside to dry. I put them onto my acrylic blocks for easy transportation.

This part is very important...
SET ASIDE TO DRY & DO NOT TOUCH!!
Don't even bother to check it if it is dry or not!! The glaze goes on opaque and clears as it dries so just to be on the safe side, allow to dry overnight. The waiting is the longest part and I'm sad to say I had a couple of orange casualties!!

**NOTE TO SELF... Just because it looks dry doesn't mean it is!!**

While I was waiting for my bears to dry... I started on the body of my card.
I built my A2 card base from cardstock and layered a 4"x5.25" mat and a 2"x5.25" strip. Adhered everything together using my trusty Xyron Mega Runner.

My "Bear Hugs" sentiment fit perfectly onto this ticket die from my Blueprints #14 dies set. I stamped it in more Momento Tuxedo Black ink and added faux stitching details with my PITT Artist Pen in XS.

For even more dimension, I added black foam adhesive squares (cut down to size). I strategically placed them behind all the bears' eyes and noses to hide them nd used black one because they blend into the black I used to stamp with.

Then, I applied my bears to my card front staggering them as if the were falling.

And here is my finished card...

I love how the light shines through each bear and reflects their colors onto the paper behind them!!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my project for today and try this technique for yourself!!
And if you do make a project with this technique I would love for you to share it on my Facebook Fan Page HERE!!

Until next time...

Teresa Collins See-thru Card

Hi Crafty Friends!! I get to kick off this week with this awesome card made with lovely Teresa Collins Papers!! That's because Teresa Collins is this month's sponsor for Craftwell!! Woohoo... how awesome is that??

And when I saw these new clear sheet of Teresa Collins I knew I had to make a see-thru card... A shaker see-thru card!!

Supplies Used
Cut'n'Boss (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies, Leaves (Thankful Set), Happy Frame (Lifestyle Set), Butterfly ( Memory Collection)
eBrush (Craftwell) w/ SN adapter
Spectrum Noir Markers- IB1 and GT1
Acetate (Grafix)
Black Foam Sheet
Diamond Glaze
Sequins
PITT Artist Pen B (Faber-Castell)
Gesso (Liquitex)
toothpick
Scissors
Paper Trimmer

I started my shaker card by cutting my Happy frame from my flower paper, black foam sheet, and gold from the TC Project Pink Gold paper. The gold is awesome not overly shiny but still a lot of bling!

Next, I ran my pieces all through my Xyron Creative Station to give them all instant adhesive.

I wanted a coordinating panel for the inside of my card and I also wanted it sized appropriately... so I used my die that I used to cut my frame, trace around it with the same Teresa Collins Flower Paper, and cut it out with my scissors. I adhered it to an A2 sized card base I made using Teresa Collins' Clear Paper in Gold Arrows.

I also used more TC Collector's Edition Flowers Paper to cut out my butterfly. I used a my PITT Artist Pen to draw the outlines and wing details. Then finished it off by applying gesso with a toothpick for the white spots.

For the shaker... I added the the flower paper to plain white card stock as a backer before running it through my Xyron Sticker maker... making it one solid piece. Next, I adhered the foam to the out line of the framed area of the flower paper. Then I sprinkled some sequins into my  framed area. I used diamond glaze over the foam and topped it off with my window made from my golden frame adhered to acetate.

I chose to do it this way because the framed area is used as guide to where to glue my foam frame for proper alignment... once I put the top layer on it will all line up with the foam and I don't have to worry about my foam being crooked.

I wanted my butterfly to look like it was in a tree or resting on a branch so I cut out 5 stems of leaves out of black card stock and adhered them to the outside of my frame using my glue pen.

I didn't want the shaker to look like it was just "floating" so I  used a couple Teresa Collins border stickers to accent the front of my card and anchor my shaker frame.

Then I I curled the wings of my butterfly to give it a bit of dimension and only applied adhesive to the body of the butterfly and attached it on top the leaves and let dry.

And here is my finished card...

These Teresa Collins papers make this card look ultra chic. Pictures don't do this justice!!

I hope you enjoyed my project for today!!

Until next time...
Happy Crafting Friends!!

Hello...

Hi Crafty Friends... or should I say "hello"?!

I've got an awesome card today that says just that! It's part 3 dimensional and part see-through, and all over fun!!

Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies (Butterfly-Memory Collection, Flower- Thankful Collection)
Teresa Collins Woodgrain Cottage Embossing Folder (Craftwell)
eBrush (Craftwell)
Spectrum Noir FS8
Sharpie Markers- light green, orange, brown
Leaf - Flowers, Branches, & Leaves Sizzlit (Sizzix)
Flower rhinestones (Hero Arts- Sparkle Gems)
Patterned paper (My Minds Eye- Happy Day)
Cardstock- Lt green and Lt brown (Bazzill Basics- Monochromatics Browns and Greens)
Acetate (Graffix)

I started my dimensional journey by embossing a piece of light brown cardstock through my Cut'n'boss machine using my Teresa Collins Woodgrain Cottage embossing folder. Then I cut my embossed cardstock down to a 4"x4" and 1"x4" pieces and set aside.

To emboss I used the following plate combo...

From bottom to top:
D PLATE
A PLATE
EMBOSSING FOLDER WITH PAPER
A PLATE

I then cut my Teresa Collins Pocket dies also using my Cut'n'boss machine.

This time I used the following plate combo to cut my dies:

D PLATE
B PLATE
A PLATE
DIE
PAPER
A PLATE

Did you know the Cut'n'boss also cuts other brand dies?? I used my Cut'n'boss to cut sizzlits using the same combo as the embossing folder combo... but instead of a embossing folder I put the sizzlit die and paper in it's place.

Here is the combo to cut sizzlits:

D PLATE
A PLATE
SIZZLIT
PAPER
A PLATE

With a paper trimmer I cut a  4" x 6" piece of  patterned paper  and a 4" x 12" piece of Acetate. I folded my acetate in half to create a 4" x 6" card base.

I ran my 1" x 4" embossed panel , one butterfly , and 4" x 6" panel all through my Xyron Creative Station with my 9" refill. I sure can fit lots of material on here at once!!

I still had a small 4"x4" embossed piece that needed some strong adhesive...

So I took out the 9" cartridge, flip up the green divider, and inserted my 5" Permanent Adhesive Cartridge...

and ran my last panel through...

Peeled and stick time!! I attached the 1" wide strip along the bottom of my card. Then did the same to my 4" piece. This leaves a 1" gap ad a window between the two pieces.
I wanted my embossing to look a little more rustic so I distressed it with brown chalk in and dauber and I taped off the window with painter's tape to keep it clean.
Then I ebrushed my leaves to add more depth to my leaves. I used my sharpies first in green, then lightly with orange, and along the stems in brown.
Then attached my leaves with Diamond Glaze. I then peeled and attached my butterfly to my card front. I also attached my patterned paper onto the inside of my card.

For my second butterfly, I folded the wings back and added diamond glaze to just the body.

I attached the two butterflies together just at the bodies and flipped the wings up to make it dimensional.

I shaped my flowers using a stylus and rubbed the backs of my flowers gently in a circular motion. I couldn't find my trusty mouse pad I usually use so I found a quick solution... fun foam!! LOL Worked like a charm!

Glued my flowers down with more Diamond Glaze and added my bling in the center of my flowers. And lasty I ebrushed the bottom of my "hello" using Spectrum Noir in FS8. Then I attached it onto my acetate.

And here is my finished card!!

I hope you enjoyed today's project...

I loved being able to stop and say HELLO but now it's time for me to say GOODBYE...
See you all next time!!

Ebrush Butterfly Challenge Sample Card

Hello again my craft happy friends!!
If you have been following my posts yo would know that I am hosting an eBrush Challenge.
Here I have made a sample project to help inspire and jump start the creative juices.

For this challenge you had to incorporate the butterfly border pictured below and airbrush a part of your project with your eBrush.

You could use our Sizzix eclip to cut it out like I did (or any other personal electric cutter that can cut digital files). If you don't have a electronic cutter then I also have the file in JPEG version to cut it out by hand.

For this card I chose to use the diamonds as a cutout background. I opened the file in my ecal software and "HID" all the butterflies before cutting.
Then, I cut out 2 sets of just the butterflies (1 in white carstock & 1 in clear plastic/ acetate)
With my eBrush & Spectrum Noir markers I airbrushed my plastic butterflies and layered them onto their matching white ones.  I added black outlines and detailing with a very fine tip permanent ink pen.

This sentiment is one of my favorites and is from a very old Penny Black rubber stamp. which I stamped using a VersaFine ink pad in Onyx black ink made by Tsukineko.

I cut an extra little butterfly and glued it to the corner of my sentiment.

Here is a closer view of the cutouts and layered butterflies.

If you are interested in joining this challenge please check out the rules here.
And, feel free to download the FREE SVG file.
Also, to participate in the challenge you must request to join the eBrush Facebook group and become a member. The eBrush page is where completed projects must be posted.

I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope it inspires you to join in our challenge.

HAPPY CRAFTING
GOOD LUCK!
