Mixed Media Paper 

I started my project by stamping multiple images onto mixed media paper using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Then, I outlined my image with my image also adding in shading with just short flicking strokes. then I took a water brush and activated the the ink with water and blended out the color.

I trimmed down my sheet to fit int my die cut machine, then used my (not yet to be release) Stitched Circle Dies from Pink and Main, to cut out my colored images.

I also die cut some scalloped Circles to layer my crows onto. This beautiful green polka dot paper if from DCWV's Autumn Leaves Stack.

I ran my stitched circle through my 3" Xyron Sticker Maker, and layered it onto a scalloped circle die cut.

Using more coordinating paper from the Autumn Stack, I cut out multiple treat boxes and folded along the seams. Then applied adhesive onto the flaps and adhered and assemble my treat boxes together.

Then I die cut out little banners from scraps from my mixed media paper and Onyx Black ink I used earlier. Then I stamped "Happy Fall Y'all" onto each banner. 

The awesome thing about these being clear stamps ... I  can see where I'm stamping AND I can bend and manipulate the shape of this die. Notice how I was able to slightly bend my words and follow the curve of the banners.

Once the ink was dried on the banners, I attached them to the front of each box.

Then attached my scallop circles to the back panel with the handle. 

Then finally, I added twine bow offset to one side and filled my carrier box with candy.

Trick-OR-Treat

Hello again, Crafty Friends!!

Did you know that the "holiday" season will officially start in just a few short weeks??!

EEEEEKKK!! I am beyond excited!

Especially because the seasons officially kicks off with my all time favorite holiday... Halloween!!

 I don't just love it because of the candy either! I love it because my birthday happens to land on the day before All Hallows Eve!! And, every year we have a masquerade birthday bash on Halloween night. 

Guest dress up in costumes, eat, and take a break from the party to take the children trick-or-treating. Then we come back and eat and continue partying and the kids rummage through their haul. It has become a annual tradition! So much fun and so many memories!!

So in the spirit of all things Halloween-y I made this super sweet card, for Team Pink and Main, that is sure to give you a tooth ache!

I start by stamping my images from the Sweet Halloween stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.

 To color my images I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol ink based markers. Then shaded with color pencils for more depth.

For the the images above, I used the following colors:

Cupcake- HB2, HB3, GB4, and OR1;
then shaded with 081 and 017.

Caramel Apple- DR2 and CR9; then shaded with 

Candy Corn- LY3, GB4, and OR1; then shaded with 017 and 013

Candies- HB2, HB3, BP1, GT3; then shaded with 081, 053, 054, and 029
Chocolate Bar- TN4,TN9, EB3, and EB4; then shaded with 090, 094, and 103

I rubbed hot pink chalk onto for cheeks on the cupcake. Then added highlights throughout using a white opaque marker.

I also colored the wrapper of the chocolate bar with a glitter pen to give it the look of foil.

When I was happy with all my coloring I die cut my images with coordinating Sweet Halloween Dies by running it through my Big Shot.

Then, I used my MFT Blueprints 29 dies to die cut a mat from DCWV's White Embossed Stack , and a frame from holographic paper from the Mixed Media Stack.

I used my Mega Runner to attach my frame to lime green cardstock (also from the Mixed Media Stack), then hand cut around the frame with scissors and attached it to my white embossed paper cut-out. Then, mounted it on purple shiny metallic cardstock (also in the Mixed Media Stack).

To make my cut-out pop off the card I mounted all my pieces with foam adhesive. Attaching them into the windows.

Then, I made a cardbase from more Neenah White Cardstock and mounted a  4.25"x 5.5" piece of gold glitter cardstock directly on top.

I stamped the phrase "trick or treat" from the Planning Fall stamp set and cut it out by hand forming a double ended fishtail banner.

Finally, I hand doodled around the inside perimeter of each window with a PITT Artist Pen in XS. with the same pen I also added tiny little eye lashes.

I think this batty cupcake is just too stinkin' sweet!!

Hello, Crafty Friends!! Today's post is from a request that I get quite frequently. I am always making cake pops and I'm forever being asked for the recipe and how I make them... so to answer answer everyone at the same time I decided it was about time I did a tutorial.

This recipe if for the world's easiest cake pops! Seriously! There are only 3 ingredients for the basic recipe for these cake pops... 1 bag of oreo cookies, 1 package Oreos, and chocolate... That is it!!

Now, mind you, I do jazz it up some and slightly deviate from that basic recipe. I add even more oreos and more chocolate to mine... but basically it still the same recipe.

Start off by sticking your cookies into a food processor and pulverizing them till they are dust. I have a pretty big food processor, so I literally dumped the whole bag in at once. But check your machine... most have a max fill line clearly marked. I recommend sticking to your machines maximum capacity and doing a couple batches.

Then, I dumped my cookie "dust" into my mixer (with paddle attachment) and block of cream cheese. Mix until fully blended. You should no longer see white and it should have the consistency of play dough. 

If you don't have a heavy duty mixer, you can totally pull up your sleeves and mix with your bear hands! Now roll your mixture into 2" balls. This batch make about 25 of them.

Place them in a freezer safe bowl and set into the freezer to chill. Since temperature vary, what your looking for is for your cake pop balls to be firm but not frozen. You need them to be super firm do the dough holds the lollipop stick and cookie ears in place. To soft and it will break apart while dipping.

While those are freezing, prep your "cookie ears" by scraping all the icing midles off the cookies. You'll need 2 "ears for each pop. But remember accidents do happen, so it's always good to have a few spares.

Then, prep the chocolate for melting. I used a combination of chocolates for my pops. The darker chocolates tend not to burn as fast so I tend to use Ghirardelli dark melting wafers a lot. But, what also helps prevent burning and also helps with smoothness is oil/ shortening... I never know how much to use and I'm afraid of adding too much and screwing up my chocolate. So, what I found out that works perfectly is adding candy coating... it's kind of like faux chocolate...  it chocolate flavored candy with the oil already in it.

There are 2 setting on my melter hot and warm. Make sure your candy is in your melter before turning it on and set it to high. stir frequently to avoid scorching your chocolate. Once fully melted, switch to warm.

When you chocolate is melted, take your firm cake pop ball and insert lollipop stick... immediately after, press in ears, then dip in chocolate. Tap or gently shake off excess chocolate. Use a firm styrafoam block as a pop stand and insert pops. Set aside to harden.

Eeeeek... look how stinkin' cute it is!!

Something this awesome needs an awesome box to be displayed in!!

And, what a ca-winky-dink... SVG Cuts has this gorgeous cake pop file included in their Honeybee Tea set!!

 I used my eclips and ecal software to cut all my panels for my box. Then I scored my panels along the dotted lines and used Glossy accents to attach the tabs. 

I only use liquid adhesive on the tabs... I don't like my paper getting warped so I keep the liquid glue to a bare minimum.

To attach the rest of my panels and pieces I use my Xyron Machines! No wetness, no warping!!

I used my 9" Creative Station to attach all the bigger pieces...

And for the thinner areas... my Xyron Mega Runner!

At the very last minute I wasn't feeling the pattern of my previous insert... So I changed it out for this one... and LOVE it!!! I even attached an acetate window and lined the inside of the box!! HOLY GUACAMOLE!! I flipping am so in love!!

 But, that's not all... this svg file also included decorative panels...I just cut them out and ran the through my 3 " sticker maker!! Ooh la la, Tres Chic!!

And for the gorgeous final touches, I die cut the word "Sweet" from this awesome Pink and Main Die in a gold metallic paper and tied a hemp bow topped with a button. and attached both using more glossy accents.

And, look how beautiful that font is in shiny gold foil!!

I cannot say how much I am love with this box!!

This will be an amazing gift for that cake pop addict or choco-lover in your life!!

Elegant Holiday Party Favors

Hello, Crafty Friends!! It's time for holiday parties to commence! And I have elegant holiday party favors that are also quick and easy to make.

I  started with a 12"x12" sheet of printed burlap. I cut it into 3 even pieces giving me pieces that measure 12"x 4".

I used a steel rule die for a "door knob favor"... but I know that this type of die is not very common. For an easy solution, I turn to my good friend Google. You can easily find templates online just by searching for "Door Hanger Template Images". Pick one that has a big "knob" opening... that will be your window.

My die comes with crease lines. But if you 're doing a homemade template, find the center of your hanger ( as if you were to fold it in half), then add a 1/4" from that center point to each side and score a line. This will give you a 1/2" wide favor.

Add chocolates or your preferred treats into your hanger and fold. Staple close. Make sure you also staple the cellophane bag into place otherwise it will slip out.

For the toppers, I used my Teresa Collins bow die from the Girls Best Friend set. I just used the bow and tails to make my bows... I didn't need that little piece only because I was replacing it with button for my bow centers.

Before I pieced my bows together I embossed them using Craftwell's Sophisticated embossing folder.

I love how huge Craftwell's embossing folders are... a whopping 8-1/2"x 12"!! I can run all my pieces through at the same time!!

Then I gently sanded the raised parts of the embossing exposing the lighter color core of the Core'dinations paper.

I assembled my bows using hot glue and also glued assorted sized buttons on each bow. Then attached them to my burlap favors with more glue.

And that's how I made these beauties...

Grateful heart treats

Hello, Crafty Friends!!

I'm back again with another treat/ favor idea. This year, why not treat Thanksgiving dinner guests with a special treat. Or if you have a fall birthday baby in your family (like I do) these would make awesome party favors or thank you gifts.

These come together super easy and you can change your colors to suit your own theme or color scheme.

For each treat I cut out a doily (from the TC Lover's Lane set), a label (smallest from the Labels One set),  a ticket label (from the TC Thankful set), and 3 springs (Also from the TC Thankful set).

 Using a scoring board I scored a line down the middle of my label and doily, creased it, then folded them in half. I used my Xyron Mega Runner to add adhesive to the back of my doily and mounted it onto the label. This created the base of my treat toppers.

Then I used my ebrush and dark blue Sharpie to shade my sprigs to coordinate with the patterned paper I used to make my doily. Then I glued them to the front of my topper.

I filled a food safe cellophane bag with carmels, place the "topper" over the open end of the bag and staple close.

I used the CENTERS of the ticket frame (from the TC Thankful set) and stamped my sentiment onto it with black ink.

I used foam tape to mount my label, covering the staple.

And here is my finished favor. Specially wrapped treats for all those special guests.

These would also be great on a table setting. Instead of stamping you could have each treat labels with the name of your guests for amazing place cards!!
