You Are Loved Card

Hello Crafty Friends!! If you follow me regularly, you know that I am an avid cardmaker. In fact, cardmaking is how I got into paper crafting to begin with. 

So, when Xyron said our first project was a cardmaking one, I squealed like a little pig. Seriously.

But I wanted to try a little something different... 

I came up with this three dimensional die cut overlay, layered over foil cardstock.

 I wanted my overlay to look as if it leapt of the card. In order to do that, I need a thicker material to cut out my overlay. Since most thin metal dies don't cut out thick and dense materials, I opted to use a sheet of craft foam. It adds the thickness I'm looking for without the having to cut through a dense material or unnecessary weight.

I started by first running a piece of foam through my Xyron Creative Station Lite. I peeled off the protective layer, flipped it over, and ran it back through my machine again.

Now, I have a very die-cut friendly piece of material that is also self adhesive.

Then, I used very pretty flourish die, from Tim Holtz's Mixed Media dies, to cut out this pretty pattern. You may wanna crank it through a few times to make sure it cut thoroughly through.

I peeled off the protective liner and immediately attached the overlay onto a sheet of blue foil cardstock.

The foil shining through the cutout image catches the light like you would not believe... It's absolutely gorgeous!

 To add even more depth, I used my mini blending tool and applied Distress Ink around the cutout image and along the edges. I started with Weathered Wood and then added Walnut.

Then,  I tied crinkled silk seam binding along the left side of the card. 

I tied the heart charm in place onto the silk ribbon bow.

I used my Xyron Sticker Maker to add adhesive to the back of my gear embellishments, then attached them to my card front.

For the thicker and bulky pieces (like the flower and the sentiment band), to simply adhered them using a clear liquid glue.

And here is my finished card... 

I absolutely love how the blue foil shines through the cutout areas. 

It immediately draws your attention to it.

My Bunny Filled Weekend

Hello Crafty Friends!! I'm back today to show you some crafty goodness with Team Pink and Main!!

I have been crafting up a storm this weekend and have a few cards to share with you all! 

All of which are made using some of  Pink and Main's New February Releases!!

Because I have more than one card to share, I decided to do a mostly pictorial post with you all today. Otherwise this would be an extremely long post and I don't want you all too get bored reading the same steps over and over for each new card. 

With all my cards I started by stamping out my images, from the Seeds of Kindness stamp set, with VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and I colored them with my Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used a waterbrush to blend out and soften the colors. Then all my images were cut out using the Seeds of Kindness Dies.

Patterned papers used in this card are from the new Spring Flings (plaid paper) and the Shades of Spring (green dot) paper pads.

 I used the largest of the stitched rectangle dies for the card front. The largest circle was used for the semi-circle mat and the third largest circle was used to put behind the bunny and watering can.

I adhered all (with the exception of the images) to a plain white card base using my Xyron Mega Runner.

I used 3D dots to prop up the bunny and watering can and add dimension.

The patterned paper used on this card is from the Spring Flings (rainbow chevron) and the Shades of Spring (scallop circle and flags) paper pads.

I used the second to the largest stitched square die for my card mat. 

I hand cut two 1"x 2" pennants and tucked them under the scallop circle.

I used dies from the Stitched Circles and the Scallop Circles dies to house my little wheelbarrow bunny. I attached all together (flat) with my Mega Runner then popped the whole piece up with foam adhesive. 

For this card, I once again used the largest Stitched Rounded Rectangle die to cut my patterned paper. This gorgeous houndstooth pattern is from the Spring Color Pop paper pad. The pink gingham, from Spring Flings . And the pink heart paper from the Shades of Spring.

I cut out 2 lacy borders and attached them across the top of the card using my Mega Runner.

I used a glue pen to attach the smile word to the background cut-out. Then attached it to the oval. 

I added a foam dot to the bunny which coordinated with the ribbon and laid it diagonally across from the bow to give the card some balance.

BONUS CARD

I had an extra bunny so decided to make another card...

I didn't use P & M paper on this one. I used a fun plaid paper from DCWV's Birthday Stack along with Stephanie Barnard's Mini Chevron Background Dies. to create the card base. 

I left some of the chevrons still attached and attached a ribbon over top, giving it a little belly band. 

Then added my little bunny in a stitched circle.

WHEW!! That was lots of projects done in one weekend (at least for me it was a lot)!! I was so pleased that I was able to get so many cards from one stamp set!!

Background Stencils

OK my craft happy friends... I've been keeping myself really busy. Believe it or not, my internet went down at home. And, until we get it back up and running at home I've been visiting my in-laws quite frequently sucking up their bandwidth! But with that said, because I've been off the internet I've been , in a way, "forced" to be ore productive. That means more projects are getting done!

Yay in a way... at least it'll be a plus for all of you because that means I've been making more FREE SVGs!!

See, I told you... YAY!! Right?!!

So... to the freebie goodies already... I designed not 1, not 2, but 3 backgrounds to share with you all. And, what's so great is that they coordinate with each other. So you can either use them individually or combine them and use the together.

And, if you are one of my eclips or eBrush friends you are sure to ave a blast with these!!

Spider-Man Birthday Party

Hi Crafty Friends! I haven't posted in a while. I was recovering from my now 3 year old's birthday party.  As you can see he is a Spider-Man enthusiast. He loves all things Spider-Man. So, it was a no brainer that when I asked  him what kind of birthday party he wanted he jumped up and screamed "SPIDER-MAN"!!

An, like any other crafty mother on a budget, I opted to make as much of the party decorations as possible. My job was somewhat simple... Sean had only two requests. 1) Pizza & 2) A  candy buffet. 

I think I accomplished both. Yay, two points for Mom!! Pizza was easily taken care of . We easily phoned ahead and went to pick up our pizzas right before the party. 

The candy buffet on the other hand was a little more work. I want a little more than candy in containers. I wanted the theme to his birthday incorporated into the set up.

I think I did a pretty good job!

I even handmade these Spider-Man masks to pas out to the children!

And, believe it or not, I already had the materials to make them.

For the masks I used fun foam sheets that I bought tons of years ago and had like 8 packs hiding in my craft stash. I am a craft hoarder so when things go on sale for a really good deal I don't hesitate at scooping it up. I can always figure out what to do with it later!!

Here is my uber cute 1 year old helping mommy to size the masks... they are so stinkin' cute at this age!!

And here I made table tent labels for my glass jars.

 I opted for table tents instead of labels because the last time I hung the labels arount the jars and hung them around the lids they seemed to get in the way and I ended up removing them and placing them besides the jars anyway.

 To get this look I used Accucut's Table Tent #2 (3-D) for the base. And Design On Cloud 9's Journal Tags and Haunted Halloween Party.

Then I backed the candy buffet with this awesome handmade cityscape skyline... also handmade and I also already had the materials for. Yay, for saving money! I did a previous post about it here. 

The thing is I try to only buy stuff only on sale. And these matboards I bought at Hobby Lobby at 50% off. I try to buy a variety of colors and just stick it in my stash because who knows when you'll need it! LOL 

This is another good reason to hoard... am I right or am I right??!! Buy when you can because sometimes things get tight and budgets get tight. And in doing so it always looks like you've spent tons of money and went all out on your child. When in reality it just took a little bit of time and elbow grease to throw your child a super fab birthday.

Alice In Wonderland - Tea Time

Gonna make this quick.This mommy's gotta run & I know this is super late. But here is my latest in Wonderland layouts and this time it's a double. All files are from Designs on Cloud 9.

I used the following files to make this spread: Wonderland Cuties ( Alice, Mad Hatter, & Cheshire Cat) , Time for Tea ( Tea Pot,Cups, Saucers, Spoon, & Lemon Slices), Pipsqueak (Ratter), Suri's Sweet Treats ( Cookies), Background- Diamonds (Center Diamond Strip), Betsy's Borders ( Scalloped Borders), Laurie's Labels ( Background Shape), Boy Bunny(March Hare), & Magic Show (March Hare's Top Hat).

Tea Drops are from the shape library of y ecal software.

Sugar cubes are the rounded square that also came from the ecal shape library.

Here's closer looks at the drops of tea & sugar cubes.

Boy Bunny makes an super cute Mad Hatter topped him off with the top hat from the Magic Show set.

 Used a mouse from the Pipsqueak file to make this adorable peeker.

I used multiple Sizzix ebossing on the tea cups and tea pot for this look.
