Pink and Main & Clearsnap Blog Hop

Hi, Crafty Friends!!
I'm so glad to be participating in the Pink and Main & Clearsnap Blog Hop!! It's always exciting when a couple of my favorite companies come together... talk about a HAPPY day!!

Welcome to our blog hop! We hope you enjoy the inspiration found on the team blogs from Pink and Main and Clearsnap.

I eagerly awaited Pink and Main's NEW May Releases. This release was packed full of heaps of FLORALS! And they are absolutely gorgeous!!

No automatic alt text available.

So, naturally, I wanted to show off a little something-something from these floral beauties. Afterall, it is Spring. And you know what they say... April showers, bring May flowers!! And today it's all about FLOWERS!!

Before I get into how I made my card, I wanted to let you all know that there are awesome prizes you could win from this hop... Pink and main will be giving a $25 gift code to their website, and Clear Snap will be giving away a prize pack valued at $25. All you have to do to win a prize is hop along the blogs and follow and leave comments on their posts. We will choose 2 random winners from the comments posted. We will post the winners on June 1st.

Supplies Used

(Pink and Main)

(Clearsnap)

(Other Supplies)
MISTI Stamping Tool
Strathmore Mixed Media Paper
Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Vellum
Light Green Cardstock

I started this card by placing my Floral Background stamp onto my MISTI tool. Then inked the stamp with ColorBox Premium Dye Ink- Rose and stamped the image onto mixed media paper.

I almost always use a stamping tool with large stamps, especially background images. It's easy to miss areas because the images are so huge. The large areas make it difficult to get even pressure to the entire image. But, with a stamping tool, I can easily reink and restamp in the spots that need more ink.

Once dried, I colored my stamped image with my Clean Color Real Brush Markers. First applying my darker colors then blending out with a lighter color.

I used the Stitched Squares Dies to cut out the entire image. This will be the base of my very large and very bold card front.

Then, I used the Pink (Cupcake) color from the FUN ColorBox Doodlebug Petal Point to shade along the perimeter and some of the white spaces of my card front. Adding the pink tones down some of the brightness of the oranges and greens against the white.

I layered my gorgeous background onto an orange and white polka dot patterned paper from Pink and Main's Pumpkin Spice 6x6 Paper Pad using my Xyron Mega Runner.

I used the Happy Dies to cut the word "happy" out of white cardstock and its shadow out of vellum.

Then, cut a banner from Kraft cardstock using Thin Fish Tail Banner Dies.

I ran the word and shadow through a Xyron 3" Sticker Maker and layered and attached the "happy" onto the banner.

Then stamped the phrase "YOU MAKE MY HEART" from the Happy For You stamp set with Clearsnap's Black Mixed Media Ink.

I adhered the banner to the card front then attached the card front to a 6"x6" card base.

As a final touch, I used the smallest orange dots from the Birthday Boy Glossy Dots to accent the centers of my orange blooms.

And here is my finished card...

I really hope you enjoyed my project for today!

Land That I Love Journal

Hey, Crafty Friends!!
I'm here with Team Xyron and this week we have partnered with the wonderful, American Crafts, to bring you fabulous projects. And today, I'll be sharing with you this fun RED, WHITE, &  BLUE Journal made with the newest line of papers from Pebbles Inc. Called Land That I Love. It has an awesome patriotic theme that is flexible enough to use on everyday projects.

I used these papers to make this Land That I Love Journal.  And though I love being American, I find some of these papers gave me a more tropical vibe which was reminiscent of back home in Hawaii.

Supplies Used
Boom Sparkle Pop, Ephemera Die Cuts- Shapes (Pebbles /American Crafts)
Creative Station (Xyron)
9" Permanent Adhesive Refill (Xyron)
5" Permanent Adhesive Refill (Xyron)
Eileen Hull Journal Die (Sizzix)
Eileen Hull Stitchy Flowers & Leaf (Sizzix)
Eileen Hull Spring Leaves (Sizzix)
May Board (Sizxix)
Eileen Hull Blends- Hydrangea (Clearsnap)
Opalescent Clear Embossing Powder (Clearsnap)
Chipboard Frame (Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts)
Stamens (Wilton)
Chipboard
Fabri Tac (Beacon)
Rhinestone Sticker
Stylus
Paper Trimmer
Extra Long Stapler

I started by cutting my paper into 6"x 9.25" wide strips. I chose the pattern paper for the cover and a solid color paper for the inside. I need two of each to cover both the outside and inside of my journal covers. I really love this floral pattern from the  Patriotic Blossoms paper. The hints of red really popped so I wanted to go with a plain red on the inside.

Then I ran my paper through my Xyron creative station. I peeled back that adhesive film and applied my paper to the front and back of my mat board.

What's my papers were attached to the mat board, I'd I cut them using Eileen Hull Journal die.

I applied glue to the spines of the covers and align the holes, using a mini clothespin to keep in place until the glue set.

I die cut flowers from the polka dot side of the Patriotic Blooms paper to cut several flowers.

I made short snips toward the center of the flowers to create petals. Then used my stylus to add creased details and to shape the flower.

I cut stamen from white cardstock. I layered and glued each together then raised each stamen one by one for dimension. I stacked my flowers together, then glued the stamen to the center of the flower.

I did the same with the smaller flowers, again adding details with my stylus, but used the smaller flowers to create center buds.

I applied white gesso over a chipboard frame. I needed to prime my surface so I could ink it with our the chipboard sucking up all the ink.

I applied two coats of ink, then sprinkle opalescent embossing powder over top. Then I heat set it with a heating tool.

The embossing powder is gorgeous!! It somewhat deepened the ink color and has so much sparkle and texture.

I die cut leaves from white and blue cardstock using Eileen Hull's Spring Leaves die.

Then, I shaped the leaves and added veins with a stylus.

A couple of the leaves for too long so I gave them a quick trim with a scissor.

To make the inserts, I cut 8.25" x 8.25"pieces of white cardstock folded in half, and staple down the center. Then I used a craft knife to trim off any overhang.

And here is my finished journal...

I plan on using this as a mini album instead of a journal. This would be great to take with me during the summer. So I can scrap memories while on vacay.

I hope you enjoyed this project and you are inspired by what you see. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Until next time...
Happy Crafting!!
