All About the Haul

Halloween.. what other holiday is there where it's ok to indulge in candy all night... and we get to dress up in outrageous costumes and people won't give a second thought. Cute, scary, funny, sexy... you could be all those... at the same time! But this week's layout is only one of those....

Here's my latest cute creation. It's all about the haul! Let's face it ... it is all about the candy!

I used Design on Cloud 9's Sweet Halloween Treats for the bears and candy buckets and I want Candy for the all the candy.

I also used Sizzix rectangle frame and scallop frame ( both retired originals dies) to make the picture frames. I also used adhesive foam under the frame to make it more like a traditional frame. I left an opening atop both frames to slide the picture into the frame.

You can see the depth better in this picture.

I'm not a big chocolate fan but I just love this chocolate bar... this one won't go straight to my hips!

I love love love peekers!!

Lots of layers!! I used two different thicknesses of adhesive foam. I wanted the different layers not to be sitting directly on each other.

And there it is.

Thanks for stopping by

Halloween Layout - Peek-a-boo

Hello again friends!

Here's a layout I made to kick off the holiday season...

Halloween is my all time favorite holiday and which made this so much more fun to make.

I used the following files for this one (you may need to write this down):
From Designs on Cloud 9 I used Monster Peekers for the witch, Frankenstein, bride of Frankenstein, & all the skulls. Spells for the stack of books, frog, & crystal ball. Bottles for the apothecary bottles. Cemetery Silhouettes for the bats.  Creepy Silhouettes for the spiders & cobwebs. Haunted House Silhouettes for the cobwebs made to be photo corners. Bubble Title for the cauldron. And Boo-tiful Borders for the cobweb borders (sorry guys, this one is retired).

Then I switched out all the character's faces... I used a file from Treasure Box Designs.

I really love this border turned out!

She became my favorite character with her purple eyes.

This piece took quite a bit of time to put together. I didn't have any stamps that would work for labels for the bottles... so I handrew all them... not bad... actually kinda cute if you ask me!

First I cut the bottle out with black cardstock. Then, I wanted the bottles to look like the old dark tinted apothecary bottles so I used Opalite ink pads by Tsukeniko. These pads are made specifically to show up on dark paper and are labeled "The Reflective Interference Ink".

I used the following colors on this project: Orchid Ice (purple),Golden Mist (yellow/gold), & Winter Rust (orange).

I used Black Castle MF font for the date and title.

I love love love the way her eye lashes came out!!

When I saw these cobwebs I thought they would make awesome photo corners... turns out I was right!

Even though this little guy doesn't have eye lashes he came out uber cute!! but I did hand draw his eye brows & teeny tiny mouth. Dunno... It's something about the green skin color that makes everything just pop!!

This layout has become my new favorite!

Hope you all enjoyed it!
And
Let's not forget about FREEBIE FRIDAY

OH NO!

Oh No!! I made a big UH-OH!!
I totally forgot to post last week's project... shame on me.. bad Mitsy!!!

And it was a uber cute teacher gift! That's right friends...
Paper crafting isn't just for scrapbooks and handmade cards anymore!

I made this adorable name plaque for my daughter's 1st grade teacher. She's been helping us transition Kyan from Kinder to 1st grade. We were having difficulties with her keeping up with her class work because everything is so fast pase and her teacher listened to our concerns and already implemented a program to her Kyan with her reading.

I used Design on Cloud 9's Smarty Pants Bears file

then I cut out photo corners using metallic paper and EK Success punch. Then I embossed it with Cuttlebugs Swiss Dots folder.

I wish I took more pic before I gave it away. Sorry. Lesson learned.

Well, that's it for now... HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Luv u a latte card

Sorry Friends! I've been out of touch for quite some time now. Between having my two boys getting sick, me house sitting for a week, and then coming back and the whole household getting the stomach flu it's not been easy to sneak in some quality crafting time.

I did however sneak in two quickie cars between weeks... sigh... and now that things seem to be slowing down and the family is getting back on their feet i think it's about time I get into serious crafting mode!!

But until things get into full swing...
Here are the two cards I made. The first I made while house sitting. The second when I got home ( right before everyone got the flu).

The bear and cup came from Designs on Cloud 9's Latte Bears set. And the scalloped background is from their Scallops set. I made thi to be a 5"x5" card... came out as a great "guy" card with all the dark neutral colors I used.

For this next card I used the exact same bear but just put him into a sitting position.

That what I love about these files... you can make them into paper dolls you can pose!!
I also used Fiskars' threading water & fall leaves(??)- border punches, Sizzix (retired green die)- photo corners, & Marvy Uchida's Oval Clever Lever Mega Punch to make the pumpkin.

This card is a standard A2(4.25"x5.5") size card.

Then for a simple elegant touch I added one of my handmade stick pins.

I've been experimenting with stick pins and I think I'll be posting more about stick pins in the future. This one came out super cut and was sooooo easy to make!

Well, that all I got time for today! Thanks for looking and don't forget to check back soon!
