Trick Or Treat Yo'self- Halloween Card

Hey, Guys & Ghouls...
I'm back again and this time with the creepy-cute Halloween card using Maker's Movement's new Trick Or Treat Yo'self stamps & dies!
Did, I ever mention before that I absolutely LOVE Halloween?! Well, I do!! Immensely!

In fact, when I saw this Trick Or Treat Yo'self set, I knew I just had to have it! These characters look almost like little voodoo dolls... but cute ones! They were just screaming to be made into a card. And that's exactly what I did. Let me show you how...

Supplies Used
Trick Or Treat Yo'self stamp (Maker's Movement)
Trick Or Treat Yo'self Die Set (Makers Movement)
Crossover II (Crafter's Edge)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Watercolor Paper
 110 lb White Cardstock (Recollections)
110 lb Black Cardstock ( Recollections)
MISTI (My Sweet Petunia)
Verasafine Onyx Black Ink (Tsukineko/ Imagine Crafts)
Twin-tip Markers (Derwent Academy)
Waterbrush Pen
Star Stencil
Distress Oxide Ink- Carved Pumpkin, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch
Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn (Ranger Ink)
Washi Tape
Button Shank Remover (Buttons Galore)
Life Changing Blender Brushes (Picket Fence Studios)

I started by collecting my supplies. In an attempt to keep my dies together and to save time, before stamping my images, I usee my to help with stamp placement. I slid each coordinating stamp under its matching die.

I only snipped the inner dies and separated them out those images could be stamped and cut separately. To snip apart the inner dies I used a button shank remover I had on hand.

Once I had my stamps positioned accordingly, I removed the dies, closed the lid and adhered the stamps to my MISTI. Then inked my images using Verasafine Onyx Black Ink.

I used my Derwent Twin-tip Markers to color the images then blended it out with a water brush.

After coloring my images, I used the matching Trick and Treat Yo'self dies to die-cut them out using my Crossover II machine.

For my card front, I  wanted to create a starry skyline. So I used washi tape and taped
off the upper section of the cardstock. I placed my stencil over the paper and inked on Carved PumpkinSalty Ocean, & Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks with my Life Changing Blender Brushes.

I removed the stencil then brushed on more ink over the stenciled background. Carved Pumpkin over the Pumpkin stars, Salty Ocean over the Salty Ocean stars, and Blueprint Sketch over the Blueprint Sketch stars.

Then I retaped the skyline and expose the uninked bottom portion. I blended on and covered the entire bottom with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. Then blended the edges with some Lucky Clover.

I removed the washi tape and stamped along the horizon with the fence stamp with more Verasafine Onyx Black Ink.

Then stamped "Trick or Treat Yo'self" at the bottom corner.

I used my Xyron Mega Runner to attach the card front to a black

Before attaching my images, I wanted to give them a bit of dimension... so I ran a sheet of craft foam through my Xyron Creative Station., flipped it over and ran it through a second time to create my own DIY foam adhesive.

I cut out the amount I needed and attached it to the back of my colored images, then mounted them onto my card front.

And here is my finished card...

These little guys came out so stinking cute!!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and are it inspires you to create your own spooktacular Halloween scene!

More Pink & Main August Releases

Hello Crafty Friends!! I've been crazy busy. A lot of the time was spent prepping for my oldest daughter's birthday party, which I will talk about in a separate post. The other part of that time was spent making these awesome cards from Pink & Main's August stamp releases.

For this card I used Pink & Main's Smell My Feet stamp set. One of the things about this set that I love is that it has interchangeable sentiments.

You can match up the "batty for" with candy, you, or Halloween.

For this card I used the same bat stamp and just changed the sentiment to "batty for you".

I also used the same set on this quick and easy ghost card.

Not all the August releases are Halloween related... They have some really cute fall stamps too!
Like the set to make these cute cards.

Both the cards above were made using the Old Crow stamp set.

These are just two out of the seven sets that were released for the month of August. Soon it will be September... and, for those of you who don't know, every month Pink & Main releases new stamp sets. The amount of stamp releases from month to month. But, I can tell you that there will be some really AWESOME ones released for the month of September and I am looking forward to showing them off!!

Go and check out Pink & Main!! You will thank me!
Craft ... AND... stamp HAPPY friends!
Till next time!!

Pink & Main - If the Broom Fits Card

Hey there, Crafty Friends!! I'm back again with another handmade card. With kids heading back to school it's a literally a few week till the holiday season. And what better way to start it off than with my favorite holiday, Halloween!

Halloween... The one holiday where you are never expected to give back anything you're given. And, the one day out of the year you get a free pass to stuff your face with junk!! Sign me up... sounds like fun times to be had!!

Pink & Main capture all that fun and then some in their new August releases of which 3 out of the 7 are Halloween themed. EEEEKK... SUPER AWESOME!!!

I used Pink & Main's Witch Brew to make this cute card.

I used my eBrush and Spectrum Noirs to get the the glow around the moon in the background. I love how much depth in the shading you can get from using this airbrush system! The paper I used started out completely WHITE!

Of course I gotta add some bling!

I love this sentiment!! The broom fits for so many occasions... LOL... at least for me!

This set has to be one of my favorite out of all Pink & Main's new releases!

Which one is yours?

They are all AWESOME!!

Time to get crafting!!
Happy stamping everyone!!

Halloween Treat Bags

I'm in slap forehead mode! I totally forgot to post this on my blog last week. And, to add insult to injury I had two project to share!

Halloween is fast approaching... and with Kyan being in the first grade it's time to up the ante. Last year I topped off giant pixie stix with bat cut outs, which I thought came out
cute... until I saw what the other mom's made. Popping my big crafty bubble and squashing all hopes of mother of the year. Sigh.

This year didn't want to look like I didn't put no effort into it. I definitely didn't want an overkill either. So I opted to make toppers for goody bags. I used A2 sized cello resealable envelopes as my bag and filled it with assorted Halloween treats (Halloween themed pencils, erasers, plastic jewelry, and of course candy).

Here is how it turned out.

I used Design on Cloud 9 files to make all the shapes here. The topper itself is from the Short Borders 2 set. The scalloped circles are from the Scallops set. For the centers I used Haunted House Silhouettes, Cemetery Silhouettes, Skullies, & Haunted Halloween Party (retired) sets.

I did not fold the topper over like traditional bag toppers... instead I opted to just use it as a front and stapled it to the front of the bag along the top. I saved on paper this way. Then  I covered the staple up with the scalloped circle. And, ta-dah, instant treat bags! I also adhered sticker labels to the back. This did two things... covered up the sharp side of the staple and let the recipient know who the goodies came from.

These were super easy to make. The hardest and time consuming part was deciding which shapes to use for the centers.

Project #2 to be continued... I'm off to pick up my munchkin from school!

See you all real soon!

Halloween Layout - Peek-a-boo

Hello again friends!

Here's a layout I made to kick off the holiday season...

Halloween is my all time favorite holiday and which made this so much more fun to make.

I used the following files for this one (you may need to write this down):
From Designs on Cloud 9 I used Monster Peekers for the witch, Frankenstein, bride of Frankenstein, & all the skulls. Spells for the stack of books, frog, & crystal ball. Bottles for the apothecary bottles. Cemetery Silhouettes for the bats.  Creepy Silhouettes for the spiders & cobwebs. Haunted House Silhouettes for the cobwebs made to be photo corners. Bubble Title for the cauldron. And Boo-tiful Borders for the cobweb borders (sorry guys, this one is retired).

Then I switched out all the character's faces... I used a file from Treasure Box Designs.

Close-Ups

I really love this border turned out!

She became my favorite character with her purple eyes.

This piece took quite a bit of time to put together. I didn't have any stamps that would work for labels for the bottles... so I handrew all them... not bad... actually kinda cute if you ask me!

First I cut the bottle out with black cardstock. Then, I wanted the bottles to look like the old dark tinted apothecary bottles so I used Opalite ink pads by Tsukeniko. These pads are made specifically to show up on dark paper and are labeled "The Reflective Interference Ink".

I used the following colors on this project: Orchid Ice (purple),Golden Mist (yellow/gold), & Winter Rust (orange).

I used Black Castle MF font for the date and title.

I love love love the way her eye lashes came out!!

When I saw these cobwebs I thought they would make awesome photo corners... turns out I was right!

Even though this little guy doesn't have eye lashes he came out uber cute!! but I did hand draw his eye brows & teeny tiny mouth. Dunno... It's something about the green skin color that makes everything just pop!!

This layout has become my new favorite!

Hope you all enjoyed it!

Going Batty

Well, I did the Little Scraps of Heaven's weekly challenge again. This weeks challenge was a 'grey-scale' layout challenge and you could use one color as a "splash color". I chose the color orange. Which was perfect for a Halloween theme.

I used pattern sets from LSHD to create this double layout. The big cutesy bats & pumpkins were from the 'Going Batty' set. And the tree, clouds, tombstones, & little bats were from the 'Ghouls Night Out' set.  The font I used for the title is called 'BlackCastleMF' which you can download for FREE from 1001 Free Fonts. I used a double shadow on the font to get this look.

I know I've been doing more projects with Little Scraps of Heaven Designs ... but can you blame me?! Their characters are just soooooooo cute!! And even if I don't win the weekly challenge I still get to chose a single pattern for FREE!! So I still win! Yay!!

Thanks for stopping by & HAPPY CRAFTING!!
