Hello- G'Day Mate Card

Hello, Crafty Friends!
It's been a while since I posted. My Kids have been sick all month and it has not been a fun ride. In fact, everyone in my household had gotten sick but me (knock on wood).

Now I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and return to my regular crafting schedule. I missed it so much. It felt weird not crafting every day!! I'm not going to lie, it was a bit depressing. It really is hard not to feel down when little ones are sick and even worse when you can't do anything for them but let whatever bug they caught, ride out its course. Bleh!

So, I am now set on bringing a bit of HAPPY back. Today, I have this adorable card using some of my favorite Pink and Main products! And if that little kangaroo doesn't make you squeal with happiness I don't know what will!

Pink and Main Products Used

Other Supplies Used
140 lb. Mixed Media Paper (Strathmore)
110 lb. Brown Cardstock (Recollections)
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink (Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko)
Tim Holtz Distress Markers (Ranger Ink)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
Big Shot (Sizzix)
2-Way Glue Pen (EK Success)

First, I started by stamping my image from the Koalaty Friend set onto 140 lb. mixed media paper with VersaFine Onyx Black ink.
Then I colored the image using Tim Holtz's Distress Markers in Vintage Photo and Worn Lipstick.

Next, I die cut the cute little guy using the matching Koalaty Friend Dies.

I die cut two stitched rectangles using the Stitched Rounded Rectangle Dies. One cut from the Take Flight paper pad (colorful polka dots) and the other from the Take Flight 2 (gray stripes).

I used a stitched wave die from the Scallop Waves Dies set to cut the striped gray rectangle.

I cut a second wave and a scalloped wave,  layered them onto the first and trimmed them with the stitched rectangle die so that they made perfectly sized borders. Using a magnetic platform or painters tape will help the paper from shifting.

For additional detail, I used a rubber mat, blue painter's tape, and same stitched wave die to deboss the stitch lines below the scalloped edge.

I used a Mega Runner to adhere the borders to the background. Then attached the assembled card front to an A2 sized (5.5" x 4.25" folded) card base.

I stamped "G'day Mate" onto the card front using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

Then die cut word hello and attached it over the stamped phrase.

I attached foam tape to the back of the kangaroo and attached to the card.

And here is my finished card...

I love how quick and easy this card was and it got extra HAPPY points for being too stinkin' cute!

I hope you enjoyed this card for today!

"HAPPY" Crafting Everyone!!
