Valentine's Day Card - To the Moon

Hey Crafty Friends... Just making this quick. Well, it's the last week before Valentine's day!! Are you ready for it? Valentine's Day is this week Friday and I have another card to inspire you for that last minute push...

I used Designs on Cloud 9's Space Cadet file for the card front & the inside panel.

The font used is called Rockwell, which usually pre-installed into most computers. If you do not have it already installed into your computer you can download a free version here.

This card would be great for a boy or a girl. Not feminine enough for you? Try making the alien pink and adding a bow atop it's head... bows instantly turn almost any character girly.

Stay tuned for more last minute ideas. Which reminds me... I still have to make valentine goodies for my daughter's first grade class!

I should get to it! Craft Happy Everyone!!

Valentine's Day Card - I Dig You

Hello Crafty Friends... I've decided to do more male friendly cards.
I know most of the items out on the market are geared towards women & girls... Valentine's Day color are reds and pinks. Which makes it increasingly hard to find something for that special guy (or little guy) in your life. I hope that me posting these GUY inspired cards will help inspire you to make something special also. So,this week I have another BOY valentine I'd like to share with you all entitled I DIG YOU.

All cutting files are from Designs on Cloud 9.
I used the following:
Big Boy Toys for the excavator (digger).
My Sunshine Title for the sun & clouds.
Photo Mat Fun for the wavy mat & scalloped border.
And, Beach Stuff's (sandcastle's sand) for the pile of dirt.

Heart shape is from the Sizzix Eclips Library.
Font used is called EastMarket  by Nick Fonts

 Don't forget...
Freebie Friday

This week's freebie is called Flourish Heart.

Rocking Horse Card - Blue

Hello hump day!
Here's a cute Rocking Horse card I made using Designs on Cloud 9's Lil' Monkey set.

All the following directions were done using my Sizzix Eclips with Ecal (SCAL) software:
Assemble the rocking horse( body, hair, & rocking base) in scal, using the shadow feature then give it a 1 pt border. Then give that shadow a 4 pt shadow border... make a copy of the that last shadow and then placed the new one directly over it and line them up. They should look like one piece at this point. Next, use the flip vertical feature and raise the image till the two heads are just slightly overlapping making them look like they  are stacked on each other.  Now, merge the two images together. This will make the base of your card.  Cut the rocking horse and accessories to size and assemble.

You can make almost any shape into a folded card following the steps above. And to make a card that horizontally instead of vertically just use the flip horizontal (mirror image) instead of flip vertical mode.

Rocking Horse Card:

In this picture you can see where the two horse heads were merged together to make one... this is where you make your fold.

I also made a mat for the inside of the card by making another shadow of the original horse at  2.5 pt.

* quick tip*
If your horse is a little off balanced you can always weight one end by gluing buttons or bling to the inside of the card on the it's mat as embellishments. This way it doesn't affect the results of the outside of your card and decorates the inside at the same time.

And there you go... a rocking horse card that can rock!
