Anchor of my Hope

Hello, Crafty Friends
I'm back again for another week with Craftwell & Latina Crafter!! Today marks the beginning of week #2 of awesome Latina Crafter projects! And, today I will show you how made this "Porthole" window card.

Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies- Memory Collection (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Embossing Folder- Diamond Motif (Craftwell)
Nested Circle Dies (Darice)
Xyron Mega Runner
Seaside Yacht Stack (DCWV)
Glittered Vellum
Red & White Baker's Twine
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
Spectrum Noir Marker- TB1
Blue Button
Cardstock- Black, White

One of the best inventions ever... clear stamps!! One of the benefits of using clear stamps is one's ability to see exact placement of your images/ and words! I can position or combine stamps in a variety of positions for a variety of looks, expanding and maximizing my stamping possibilities.

First, I positioned my clear stamps onto an acrylic block and stamped the image onto a practice sheet of paper to make sure that alignment is how and where I want it. This way I  minimize waste and saves my "good stuff" for my actual projects. For this card I used Latina Crafter's Anchor set.

Once placement was exactly how  wanted, I stamped my image onto my "pretty" cardstock.

I added shadows to the banner by shading the ends with a Spectrum Noir Marker in TB1.

For my card front I cut a 4"x5.25" piece of cardstock. I found this awesome anchor paper that matched the theme of the stamps with cute little anchors from the DCWV Seaside Yacht Stack. I embossed it using a Teresa Collins Diamond Motif Embossing Folder through my Cut'n'boss machine using the following sandwich:

I wanted to cut a window but I wanted my stamped image to be centered. To get image centered, I first centered my stamped image using a wafer thin metal die blade side up. I held the die and paper in place with my thumbs and forefingers, then flipped them over. Still holding them together I centered them over my card front mat. Now, when I remove my stamped paper, my die is now positioned blade side down. At this point you can use washi tape or painter's tape to keep in place. and die cut your window.

Then used my Xyron Mega Runner to attach my window to my card A2 sized card base. To complete my "Porthole" window, I centered the next smallest circle die inside the first window and ran it through my die cut machine again.

Then I attached my stamped image on the inside if my card. Centering it on the back lap should also result in it being centered in the window.

Then, I cut a 4"x5.25" piece of cardstock and attached it to the inside/ backside of the window. Then repeated the same step for the front window to the inside. This covers up an adhesive that shows through the vellum and gives the inside of the card a finished look.

To embellish the card I also stamped an anchor and cut it out by hand.

And, die cut the "RememberThis" phrase from the Teresa Collins Memory Collection set. Then ebrushed it using the same marker I used to color the stamped banner. I used a glue pen to adhere it to black cardstock and attached it to my card stock with more adhesive tape.

To finish my card, I used baker's twine topped with a button. and used liquid glue to attach the twine and anchor.

And here is my finished card...
You can''t see the actual sentiment until you open the card...
or press down firmly

I hope you enjoyed today's project!! I really love the quality of Latina Crafter stamps!! And they go so perfectly with my Teresa Collins dies and folders... don't you think??!!

Until next time,
HAVE A CRAFTY DAY!!

Masculine Journal & pen

Hello, Crafty Friends!!
I am so excited to start the new week with Craftwell's new sponsor... Latina Crafter!! I really love the assortment of Stamps and stencils! And today, I'll be using their fabulous stamps with Craftwell's awesome dies, to make this masculine journal and matching pen set for my husband. Awhile back he asked me for one but I never got around to making him one till now... I think I'll surprise him with a just because gift! Because who doesn't like surprises, right?!!

Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies- Noteworthy, Memory Collection, Thankful Holiday,  (Craftwell)
Anchor Stamp Set (Latina Crafter)
Hey Sailor Stack (DCWV)
Gold Metallic Foil Board (Grafix)
Mega Runner (Xyron)
VersaFine Onyx Black (Imagine Crafts/ Tsukineko)
Composition Book
Ballpoint Pen
Paper Crimper (Fiskars)

First, I started by cutting two sheets of patterned paper from the Hey Sailor stack, to measure 9.75"x 7.25". I want this to be really sturdy and stick in place so I ran both sheets through my Xyron Creative Station using a permanent adhesive cartridge. This way I had edge to edge adhesive coverage.

Then, I peeled off the protective backer and applied to my composition book. I used the corner and the edge of the book as a guide so the paper would adhere straight. Then, I rounded off the corners with a scissors.

To cover the spine of the composition book, I cut a 2.5"x 9.75" strip from coordinating paper on the same stack.

To decorate the front of my book, I used my Cut'n'boss machine and Teresa Collins pocket dies, from the Lover's Lane set, out of more patterned paper from the Hey Sailor stack.

I also die cut these Teresa Collins pocket dies, from the Memory Collection & Noteworthy sets, to die cut gold metallic foil board.

To get more from my dies I like to cut them apart. I cut the doily die in half and tuck the cut edge under other elements. I also cut the numbers apart. Sometimes dies are too long to fit onto a surface and in these cases I'll either trim off the excess or cut them down and rearrange the cuts so that they do fit.

I love using paper stack that not just come with gorgeous sheets of patterned paper but also include sheets with decorative panels you can cut out. these make for awesome pocket page inserts or lovely coordinating embellishments!

I cut out this sailboat form one of these panels. Next, I ran that panel and my die-cuts through m Xyron Creative Station. Then I applied them onto my book front.

That sail boat went perfectly with one of the passages from the Anchor stamp set from Latina Crafter!

I cut out more gold foil paper and used it to frame my passage that I stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I cut out strip of more coordinating paper and snipped a fishtail to each, just one one side. I ran all my pieces through my Xyron Sticker Maker and mounted my elements onto my book cover.

Now, I just had to make a matching pen to go with my journal... and you know what?? They  are super easy to make!!

Take a ball point pen, you need the kind that easily unscrew on one end, and take your pen out of the barrel.

Then, cut a strip of paper measuring .5"x 3.75" from any of the paper scraps I used from my book cover. Then I ran it through my paper crimper, lengthwise. This help curl over and insert into the barrel. Trim off any overhanging paper that doesn't fit the length of the barrel.
Insert pen through paper and back into the barrel and screw pen back together.

Tah-dah... Matching Pen!!!

And, here is the finished Journal and matching pen set...

I hope you all enjoyed this project!!

See you all next time!

HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Getting a little more with your stamps

Hey Crafty Friends... We are coming to the end of of our sponsorship with Latina Crafter and the past 2 months were so much fun!!

Today I wanted to show how you can easily transform this adorable birthday stamp into a so cute and lovable everyday stamp.

Supplies Used
Ebrush (Craftwell)
Birthday Girl (Latina Crafter)
Spectrum Noir Markers - GB1, TN3, TN4, TN5, TN6, TN9, GB9, FS5, CR5, CR6, DR1, DR5, PP2
Cut'n'Boss (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Twill Herringbone Embossing Folder (Craftwell)
Blueprints 14 ( My Favorite Things)
Paper Doily (Wilton)
Cardstock- Red, Black, white
Patterned Paper (Bella Blvd.)
150lb Illustration Paper (Canson)
Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (Tsukineko)
Black Sharpie
Paper Roses
Gesso (Liquitex)
White Opaque Marker- Snow (Recollections)
Diamond Glaze (Judikins)

First I started off by stamping my image onto illustration paper with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I didn't stamp the whole image. I left out part of her balloons and hat. I won't be using those is this project.

Next, I colored her face using Spectrum Noir markers in FS5, and TN3. Then added some pink in her cheeks with PP2. Then I used colors GB1, TN3, TN4, TN5, TN6, TN9, and GB9 to color her hair.
Most times I'm careful in staying inside the lines... this time not too much. I was going to cut out my image anyway so going a little outside the lines really didn't matter. I trimmed away the balloon and her little party hat.. and presto an everyday girl stamp!
I used a drop of Diamond Glaze to adhere a little rhinestone bow. It fills in the space where the birthday hat once sat, turning this birthday stamp into a stamp you can use for any occasion!
I used my Cut'n'boss machine and cut out my card mats using the 2 biggest dies from the my Blueprints 14 set... easy peasy with the cut'n'boss' extra large platform... both dies go trough at the same time!
Then I ebrushed my edges with my Spectrum Noir Markers. The rounded edged square I ebrushed in PP2 and for the edges of the doily I used DR1 and DR5. Notice I didn't ebrush the whole thing. I left  a blank space because I wasn't going to use the entire doily. I then adhered my doily to my mat and trimmed off the end of the doily that wasn't ebrushed.
Then I quickly ran my panels through Xyron Creative Station for quick end to end adhesive.
I also ran my smaller pieces through my 3" Xyron Sticker Maker.
I then embossed my 5"x5" piece of  red cardstock using my Twill Herringbone embossing folder.
And, I ebrushed the edges with a black Sharpie.
I didn't have flowers to match my color scheme so I gessoed the paper roses I did have and ebrushed them with the same pink and red markers that I previously used.

After adhering my card panels and image in place I glued my roses down with more diamond glaze and added my sentiment.

This sentiment is also included with the Birthday Girl stamp set. I stamped it then cut it out using one of the smaller dies in my Blueprint 14 set.

Here's a close up
Hope you loved the way I used my stamps today and that you won't be afraid of using your stamps a little differently!!

Happy Crafting!!

Party Owls Gift Bag

Hey Crafty Friends... I'm here bring you another project for team ebrush with our awesome sponsor Latina Crafters!! I love this owl stamp! I think this little owl trio is just corky!! And they always seem to bring a smile to my face. So I decided to use them to decorate a gift bag... because who says that stamps only have to be used on cards?!!

Supplies Used
Ebrush (Craftwell)
Some Birdy's Birthday (Latina Crafter)
Spectrum Noir Markers (CG3, CG4, OR1, OR2, TB1, TB4, TB5, LY3, CT2, GB3, GB5)
Cupcake Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug- Once Upon A Princess Set)
Spellbinder Nestabilities Fleur de Lis Squares
Canson 150lb Illustration Paper
Patterned Paper (DCWV- The Great Vacation Stack)
White Cardstock
Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (Tsukineko)
Small Gift Bag
Grosgrain Ribbon
Button
Glue Gun and Glue Stick
Scissors

I start off with stamping my Latina Crafter's Some Birdy's Birthday Stamp with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto illustrator paper... this paper is made for manga illustrators that generally use alcohol ink markers. It is very heavy weight and dense so it keeps the ink from bleeding so much.
I colored in my image with my Spectrum Noir Markers. For the Blue parts I used TB1, TB4, & TB5. For the Orange parts of the body and wings I used CT2, GB5, & OR1.
For the beaks and feet I used OR1 & OR2.
For the Green parts of the birthday hats I used CG3 & CG4... and for the Yellow parts I used LY3, CT2, GB3.
I embossed a cupcake background from a 4.75"x6.25" piece of regular white cardstock.

Then I ebrushed my embossed cardstock with the same colors I used to color my image (with the exception of the yellows). I did it in sections at a time starting with the lightest of the colors and using the darker toward the edges.

Here it is with the rest of the colors filled in.

Then I used my die to cut out my ornate square from patterned paper and then again used the same die to cut out my image.

I trimmed away the scroll work off my image die cut.

I then ran it through my Xyron 3" Sticker Maker and adhered it to the blue cut out making it looked framed.

I quickly ran my ebrushed background panel through my Xyron 5" Create-a-Sticker...

And adhered it to the front of my gift bag, right above the fold line. I didn't all my hard work to get smashed in the crease of the bag. And if the recipient want to store the bag it would fold easily.

I used foam adhesive to the back of my image and added it to the front panel.

I then tied a double loop bow and hot glued it to the front of my bag. Then I immediately glued my orange button to the front of my bow.

At the last minute I decided I wanted matching tissue paper to go with my gift bag... but all I had was white tissue paper... which was just fine by me!!

With the help of my decorative edge scissors, in this case a Zigzag edge, I cut the two ends of my tissue paper. I then ebrushed the cut edges with OR2. Just doing the ends gave it a nice ombre effect... and I love it!!

And here is my finished gift bag...

I hope you enjoyed today's project!!

Happy Crafting and THANKS for stopping by!!
